Am new to the forum and am having some issues unlocking my bootloader.
I have a new HTC Evo 4G running:
BaseBand 2.15.00.12.19
Android 2.3.5
Build #: 5.07.651.1
HBOOT 2.18.0001 .
This is a replacement phone that Asurion sent me. My other Evo was simple was able to use Unrevoked to root it.
The MAIN reason for me to unlock and/or root is so tha I can use the wireless hotspot for free so I can cancel the 50.00 a month fee for 6GB data which I can easily go through in 2 days.
So I dont think that I really need to root to do this, but only need to unlock the bootloader, is this correct?
The file that I think I need for this newer software is called rootevo4gnew.zip but am unable to find the actual file. When I think I find it I dwnload it and it ends up being an unzip program or something else other than the actual .zip file.
If someone could PLEASE point me in the direction of the easiest way to accomplish free wireless hotspot on this Evo 4G and point me in the direction where I can actually get the files needed I would REALLY appreciate it!

I'm sure I would like to eventualy do the full root so that I can change ROMS and put in my custom boot screen, but for now I NEED the HotSpot active for work ASAP.
