I've downloaded a few apps already (Bubble UPnP, Twonky Beam, XBMC + some remotes). Basically what I was looking for was a way to direct stuff at the TV rather than using my tablet as the server and navigate using the TV remote. Twonky Beam, so far, is pretty close to what I need. However I still have not found a way to include subtitles.
I typically download something then play it in XBMC and use the subs plugin to locate/download subtitles. If I copy the two file to a USB (making sure the filenames match) I can then play it on my TV, no problem. But the copying is excruciatingly slow.
Are there any options for me? I suppose I could use some app to re-encode the video with the subs built-in, but is there support for subtitles (external) built into DLNA? Supposing I have an .mkv file, if I add a subtitle file to the enclosure (which I believe there are apps to do so) will that content be streamed to the tv as well? And, if so, what app would I get to do this?
Thanks in advance.
