Come congratulate me!!

You caved in??!! LOL.

Hopefully it's a keeper (unlike the Note 8). :p

Have fun with your new toy. I'm staying put with the Note 2 and its current headaches with 4.3. No need for the Note 3 at the moment. The 2 and 10.1 are more than enough for me. Until I can upgrade the 10.1 to a MS Surface Pro for digital art work.

LOL!!! Oh there you go!!!!

I think what's stopping me from feeling WOW is the fact I still have my Note 2.
One thing I do like a lot is the back cover and how much easier/smoother it is to take off/on compared to the Note 2.

Those who know how outspoken I am will not take offense to this but I don't think it's worth upgrading from the Note 2.
I initially thought this as the Note 2 performed very well and after receiving the Note 3 not alot had changed. However when I do things on my Note 3 it does seem to be slightly nippier (is that a word?) and seems to go through the menu's quicker. The camera, I still haven't had time to really sit down and get to terms with yet, but I'm getting there slowly, it seems alot more complicated to use than the Note 2 (which was very good in my opinion) but getting used to its layout is all thats needed really.
The stock browser in my opinion is not as good as the Note 2 on 4.1.2 software, main reason is no flash support, I guess I will have to suss out a new browser maybe.
I am loving the new little things that I find about this phone, little things but things that all help to make this phone better. Battery life seems better now than my Note 2 and I love the new S pen features, I may not use them all very frequently but they are there if I need them.
Overall I am happy, so is my wife with my Note 2 lol.

It is quiet, even at maximum volume. I've sorted that with an XDA hack from here, but you need to be rooted (it's a flashable .zip) and it is only for the Qualcomm Snapdragon version.

[MOD] Volume Boosting Sound Hack Mod | For Galaxy Note 3 | ONLY SNAPDRAGON VERSION !! - xda-developers

that is great...
but based on how weak it is... a the few times.. i have heard the speaker cracking for extended periods (eventually it go back to normal).
i would be scared to blow the speaker with this hack/mod.

Speaking of storage.....I for some reason thought there was only 16/32 GB being sold. Earlier I check storage & see it's 32GB....my jaw drops thinking someone made a mistake. :afraid:

So I jumped into Google to see there is no 16GB 3. Good thing for me since one of my 32GB mSD cards bit the dust months ago & I never got around to replacing it yet.

Having a phone with at least 32 minimum is SWEET!

I 'd have stuck with the Note 2 if they kept 16

This is the video hub you are accessing and not the video player (which is weird). Remember when I was complaining about Video Hub not working with 4.3 when I updated my Note 2? Well, that's what you are accessing. It requires login to your Samsung account to acquire previous paid for videos or rentals.

Looks like a botch up job of integration. I know Samsung is trying to integrate all the different hubs into the Samsung Hub.

I wish I could be of further help, but as you know, I don't have a Note 3. :(

ScandaLeX, look at the center of the screen, aftet the bottom ad goes away. The sign-in is only for purchased videos. If you have any on another device (I have some on my network drive), it'll play them from Nearby devices. But if you put videos on your SD card (the internal one will probably work, I've only tried it on the external one), they'll show up in Personal.

If you're copying mp4s from your computer, Windows will ask if you want to convert them. I allow it, and they're stored as wmv files.

The "Samsung hub" is a bit of a hatchet job, its not bad, but it feels like Samsung's own completion to some of Google services in some ways. Not only that everytime I open it, perhaps a couple of times a fortnight it always wants to update.

Hatchet job for sure. It's still 'new' and Samsung still needs to sort their stuff out. It looks like they're going for total integration. On the Note 2, all the hubs are found in the Samsung Hub. The video player is still a separate app on its own. Then there's Samsung Link which allows streaming and file sharing. Not sure if the Note 3 had this. But it sounds like the Note 3 is integrating the Video player as the Video hub and having functions of Samsung Link.

I have no objection to creating/signing in to my Samsung account for this stuff to work.

Once that's done, the Video icon launches the video player, showing the videos I have saved.

In that screen, the upper left shows < [icon] MY VIDEO, which takes you to the Samsung Hub with five pages - Happy & Healthy 2014, Music, Video, Books, and Games.

Tapping Video on the first or third pages will take you to the Video Store, and swiping right to left takes you back to MY VIDEO(s).

I like it but I'm not overwhelmed by it. I'd recommend it to anyone coming from the Note I. Coming from anything else more recent, I don't see the need.

I agree its not worth the cost upgrading to the N3. Compared to the note 2, the N3 screen is better and its marginally quicker - but truth be known, the N2 is a better hold in your hand - the shape is nice to hold. I find the N3 quite difficult to type with because it is thinner with square edges.

The N2 camera is better. It might be lower MP but it just works. The N3 is a faff with too many settings and poor stability and night pics. I find it really difficult to pull out of my pocket and take a quick snap.. The N2 just does it!

I've had my N3 in the repair shop and bought an N2 on ebay to use for a couple of weeks and really didnt miss the N3. Now I have it back the first though was 'god how difficult is it to type with the n3'!

Not sure whether to keep the N3, keep the N2 or try a G2...always been in the back of my mind....

I might wait to see what MWC throws up in feb first.

My N3 came today! I wasn't ready to changeover from my Rezound but once I put the battery it and turned it on it started to update. oops! But as long as my contacts were there I'm ok.

WOW - I hope this isn't more than I can handle! I need to print out the manual to figure out how to move around. Will be doing much reading here to find the helpful hints & tips. Or else someone to hold my hand! :D

Sure is pretty - white. I have a hot pink case ordered.

Noticed the 3 dots on the bottom which mean there are 3 screens available in the app. Can you swipe to the other screens? I'm guessing one will be the hub store, your hub purchase library and the video player?

Can anyone else confirm this?
I just realized Samsung seems to have consolidated their hub & the video player into one app. Neo, I didn't notice the dots before. Took my mSD card out of the Note 2, put it in the 3 and now see my movies. I've never purchased any directly from Samsung or Google for that matter so seeing the hub was throwing my thinking off.

Just saw this in the play store. GALAXY Note 3 Experience

I used to keep the Note 2 manual on my SD card for when I needed it but got rid of it. I don't see that same type of manual now but this one might help you a bit.
