Help Auto Power Down?

I love my Nexus 7 2013 WiFi Tablet but it seems to have a lingering problem?
On occasion, when in standby mode/screen shut down, I later go to press the power button momentarily to bring up the screen and find that the tablet has totally powered off even though there is plenty of remaining battery capacity. To restart up the tablet, I have to press the power button for 30-45 seconds before 'Google' appears and the software loads.

Anyone with this problem who can advise please.

Have you ruled out any 3rd party apps causing the issue? Something you've installed may be running and using up too much resources, overheating the battery, or GPU. You can try a process of elimination by uninstalling a few apps at a time, or factory resetting and running the tablet without installing any third party apps.

If the tablet still shuts off by itself without having any new 3rd party apps installed and you've factory reset, then I would recommend returning the tablet for either an exchange or a refund. Unfortunately there's no real way to be absolutely certain that it's not a 3rd party app causing the issue unless you try one or all of the steps listed above.

Hopefully it's just a rogue app and not a hardware related issue.

Thank you for your tips.
I will go through the various apps I downloaded to check, though I have very few running and have not downloaded many and only from the official store.
For starters, I have changed my WiFi setting so that it is not permanently on when tab is sleeping.

I hope it's not a tab fault ...all the setting up.
Happy New Year and thanks again

Just an update. I have set the WiFi to disconnect when tablet is in sleep ... this seems to have cured the switching off problem I have been experiencing. On this basis,it must be one of the Apps auto checking for eg updates?

I also have disabled the App Currents which has been replaced by Google Play Newsstand, I can't find a way to uninstall it?

If you need to hold it for 30 seconds, it sounds like an app is causing it to stick in deep sleep.

~8-10 seconds to force power off, then a few more to start the boot routine, seems to be what's going on from description.

I still have Currents on my 2013, was just using it last night. I haven't seen this behavior.

I've only had a 2013 since Saturday however, and immediately unlocked it and put on CM11 when I brought her home, if for no other reason just to be able to edit the damn tiles on the Quick Settings menu.
