I know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But geeeeeez, this is one helluva dynamic phone -- probably not meant to be stuck with one ROM for life!
I originally liked everything about DM -- almost automatic root, automatic install and hands off everything else as far as maintenance cuz everything works!
But dayummmm. If I knew that's all there would ever be, I'd probably be content.
But they blindfold you in their secrecy and tell you that they are dangling a carrot... a big fat juicy carrot, so if you hang out just a little longer, something good is coming!
Well, already lost count of how many MONTHS it's been. No telling how much longer it's gonna be. And god forbid you ask on their forum. All the little fanboys come crawling out with pitchforks and torches.
Meanwhile, my Droid flaunts one costume, while everyone else has full access to a thousand wardrobes and enjoys trying on everything they can find.
Time to disrobe.
Time to get naked, try on some new clothes and enjoy the ROM party...
Bye, bye DMod!

PS> Point of this post? I have no idea. But I'm curious if anyone else feels the same way -- or if I just need to chill and "be patient".

Your sentiments have been expressed here many times but you do state it quite well.

Guys droidmod is awesome! Way better then cm or bb.

I do agree with this, but I do like some of the new feat. that CM and BB have! I did join the ROM party, but will continue to check DM for any updates. With CM I found myself changing ROM's all the time, but I never did with DM unless they came out with an update! Finally settled on KrazyK's themed CM ROM, to me it seems to be more stable with less lag! My 2 cents anyway!

I finally gave up waiting on the DM team too. When 2.1 update came out I was still waiting for them before unrooting and updating but I wanted the lovely 24k theme for 2.1 to work so I finally caved and went with CM. DM was much simpler and so stable so I hope they come up with something new soon. I don't change ROMS anymore but I really want this one to be perfect and it still has a few hiccups running off Koush's 5.0.6.2

Whats even funnier(Sorta) Is that while I was on their IRC channel a week or so ago, one of their devs said they were shooting for an early July release.. Hell, 2.2 will be out by then for cripes sake...

I wonder what takes them so long to get sh*t done:rolleyes:

To provide some defense for dm. My understanding is that they are building from aosp source. So once they get everything done updates will be much quicker. Like how fast cyanogen ties in new aosp code.

Fair enough.. this is my understanding also. I'm not a DM hater just so you know, lol. I am pretty damn sure they will release one heck of a good ROM.

But, the fact still stands that at their current speed and their target date, 2.2 will be out before they are done and they will have to start over again. Nobody is going to want a 2.1 ROM no matter how good it is after 2.2 comes out...

what I was saying is when stuff like 2.2 comes out it will be an easy update for them.
