Hey,

Error Message: "Unfortunately gallery has stopped."

Ok...why? And how do I get the camera to work again? My gallery of photos still works (I can access them, share them, ect) but I cannot use the camera itself regardless of where I try to access it (gallery, FB, instagram, ect).

I was told I need to completely wipe and restart my phone, but that's going to be a pain in the ass to have to save everything, and re download apps and stuff I use. grr. grumble.

Anyone have a better solution or is that my only option?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my GN camera went out almost a year ago and hasn't worked since. The symptoms were identical to yours: Gallery crashed repeatedly (apparently it keeps trying to restart itself), and I got "unable to connect to camera" errors from any third-party camera apps.

I can also report that a complete wipe and reload of your phone will almost definitely not solve the problem (been there, tried that!) because this seems to be a hardware vs. software issue.

As I posted on a similar thread, there's only one thing I discovered that would solve the problem -- unfortunately, only for a short time. But you still might want to try it: Simply turn off the phone, disconnect the charger, and pull the battery out. Leave it that way for at least an hour or more; then reassemble and boot up the phone. Each time I do this, the camera will start working perfectly. But it always fails again, usually within an hour or less. Maybe you'll be lucky and the camera will keep working?

At the very least, it convinced me that there were no software problems. So I've basically given up on it until I can replace the phone. I've even removed Gallery from the phone's startup apps to avoid all of the irritating crash messages. And please post if you find a cure, because I sure miss having my camera!
