Help Phone not reading full sd card space

I can not move files onto my sd card cause its saying there is only 3gb left on the card when really there is 29gb

I saw your other post related to the same issue and I am guessing that you have a bad of counterfeit SD card.
You can test it using a PC program called H2testw or an app call SD Card Tester found in the play store.

There are partition managers available to manipulate SDCard Formatting and partitioning.

Example - Easeus Partition Master or Norton Partition Manager and they can help you get all the space possible from your card that is installed.

Mount the card on an adapter and insert it onto your computer.

Copy ALL the files and folders to your computer for safekeeping just in case Murphy gets on your case :>)

Then use the partition manager to increase the size of your SDCard's partition to the largest it can become. Most let you click and drag the partition boundary of the card and slide it to enlarge or contract the partition.

Most formatting software leave some unused space for error handling, and some leave a large chunk too! I have recovered over 30 Gigabytes from each of my two 64GB SDCards using this means. It has worked flawlessly for me and I'm sure you will have no problems as well.

If you should lose any files in the process, you can easily recopy all the files back to the card from your computer. Be sure you do not change the formatting structure of the SDCard. I use Fat32 because Clockworkmod had a problem with the EXFat formatting.

Aloha and Good Luck!

Guys when I connect my phone to my mac using file transfer. All I have when I click on card storage is android folder and lost.dir folder. Otherwise it's saying all my files are on the phone storage which according to my file manager on my phone is not correct.

OK. There is a VERY simple way you can determine what is on your card and what is not.

Turn off your phone and remove the card from it.
Put the card in a reader adapter and insert it in a USB port on your computer.

Read using Explorer or whatever file manager you have on your computer, and see EXACTLY what is on the card, and right click on the main root folder of the card and select "Properties".

That should give you the Total space and available space on your card.

If there is anything on your Lost Dir folder, that would mean you took the card out of the phone before un-mounting it. If you don't need the files in there, just delete them (I do).

Aloha and Good Luck!
