Help 11,5 GB SD card?

My SGS2 has an issue with my micro SD card.
I have never had an SD card in it. Now I've got myself one (4 GB, Konig, Micro Secure Digital Class 10), it won't read it. I've never looked at it before, but now it says my SD card is 11,5 GB with 8 GB unused. When trying to move apps to it, it says there is not enough space free.

Also, when there is no SD card in it, it does the same (11,5 GB SD/8GB unused/can't move).
When using another SD card, it can move apps though. But my phone can't see them any more; it still 'sees' an 11,5 SD.

What should I do?

Hi Lewistrick,

Welcome to the group. Sorry this has not been answered yet.

If I look at my Settings --> Storage, it shows

-Device Memory - That's what Android reserves for itself & apps - 1.97Gb in my case
-USB Storage: Thats what's left on your internal, non-removable SD card - 11.26Gb in my case
-SD card: That's the external removable SD card - 14.83Gb in my case since I have a 16Gb card and some of it gets taken up for system stuff.

Hope this helps,

I have Device Memory and USB Storage too, but at SD-card it shows I need to place an SD-card. It is in there though, so clearly the phone can't read it.

Another thing just pops up: a while ago, my phone got wet by a glass of water. My camera and flash don't work any more. Could this be the cause of my problem?

Hi

been going through the internet forums trying to find a solution to my problem but have yet to do. This website had some familiar threads that related to my problem so i hope someone can help.

I have a samsung galaxy gt-s5830i and have had it for just over a year. The problem i have is when trying to download apps off the play store they wont download because it says 'insufficient storage space'. However i have a micro sd card in the phone which is 2gb. Im almost certain ive used it in another phone.(if that makes a difference). I dont see why the apps cant just download onto it when theres so much space? So the apps only download onto my internal memory meaning i have just a few apps which is very annoying.

Thanks for your time,
