Updating android OS (how do I know if ROM package is secure?)

Hello I like to update my HTC Sensation XE to Android 4.3 (or if possible4.4)

I have found a step by step manual how to do it. In the manual thy advise me to download cm-10.2-20131028-Albinoman887-pyramid.zip install packaged from Goo.im free android file hosting someone else told me to get the ROM from CyanogenMod | Android Community Operating System

How can I check if the packet is right form my phone and save to install without viruses ore trojaans?

Or can I install a ROM directly form android.com?

1) If you get CM from the Cyanogen site, it's clean. But if you download it on a computer running a virus scanner that scans downloads for viruses, you'll have more assurance. Also check the MD5 for the file with an MD5 program to make sure it wasn't changed between the time it was put on the site and the time you got it.

2) If the developer said it's for your model phone, it is.

3) Goo.im is a known-good site.

4) If you want a guarantee, wait for your carrier to push the update OTA. Then if anything goes wrong, they're responsible. Impatience voids all warranties. If you do it yourself, all you get is reassurances, not guarantees.

Which virus scanner can I install on my computer before installing the CM on my mobile (Do I need one specific to detect Android viruses)?

How do I check a MD5 file if there where any changes made?

Dos Goo.im checks all the files that they are offering?

Do I understand it correctly if I make a backup with NanDroid, ClockWorkMod or SimpleADBBackup that I can restore my warranty?

And which one can you recommend me?

thanks

I've moved your thread over here to the all-things-root area for your device.

The good folks in here should be able to help answer some of your questions.

Also, be sure to check out the stickied threads here in this area, particularly the sensation-xe-all-things-root-guide that has some great links to other threads that might also be of use to you.

Cheers and safe rooting!
