retrieving contacts

I recently sent my HTC one X off for repair and before doing so I had some contacts saved to both my sim and phone, but more on my phone, so I copied them to my google account on my mobile. However, as I have now sought to put them onto my sim as I await my mobile I am unable to find them online. I also didn't have a gmail account when I copied them. Is there anyway I can find these contacts, or were they merely saved on the mobile?

Hi

You say that you copied them to your google account on your phone AND that you didn't have a gmail account when you did that? A gmail account is a google account. Open the gmail account on a PC and they should be there - UNLESS the phone did not have a chance to sync with googles servers....In that case your contacts will be gone as its very likely that HTC will reset your phone.

Hi Roger,

what's weird is that with my google account I just used a hotmail email address to make it as I did not make a gmail account, well until today. would that mean that it never could have saved anyway?

I've never come across that before, but yes, I think that means you did not have a google account.

Thanks for that, at least once my mobile is back I can make sure that is rectified, and thankfully I'm not missing too many contacts
