Hi Guys,

Last week I had software updates available on my phone so I went ahead and upgraded. I am not sure what update it was, but I now have the blink feed option on my homescreen if that helps.

Ever since the update the phone has been really really slow, it lags, freezes and screen looks distorted most of the time. The switch on/off button on the top right of the phone doesn't work all that well either.

Is there any way I can get rid of the recent update and revert to the old software?

All help greatly appreciated :)

You can't downgrade unfortunately.

A lot of members have found that factory resetting after updates solves a number of problems, for a little more info on why, see here: http://androidforums.com/htc-one-x-xl/666917-jb-update-issues-factory-resets-please-read.html

You can backup your apps and associated data with helium, there are plenty of SMS Backup Apps, I use this one. Your contacts should also be backed up to your gmail account. To check, log in to your gmail account on a PC, then click contacts and it should display a list of numbers etc on your phone?

Let me know if that helps/you need more info or assistance with any aspect of the above. :)

You actually can downgrade. S-off is required but it's absolutely possible.

Yep, but how many of the Tegra 3 based handsets actually have S-OFF? I think most (if not all) of the devs have said S-OFF is pretty much impossible.

That's true. The OP at no point properly identified the device so I guess I was assuming it was the One XL. I guess that's the danger of a forum that lumps two completely different devices in the same forum. I have no idea why it's set out like this, it's pretty dumb.
