Hello firthy. Welcome to Android Forums! 
A little more information would be helpful. Can you shut it off and reboot? What happens and when exactly do you get the white screen?
It could be a misbehaving launcher, a corrupt file or driver or hardware failure. The first two might be fixable. The third is time to send it in for repair.

Thank you for your help. The only function this thing has is, if you depress the switch for a while, the blank, white screen will appear, and there is no way of doing anything else. Holding the switch down will turn the lighted screen off. What do you think?............firthy.

That doesn't sound good. When the light is on, does it do anything if you plug it in to a PC?

No, nothing when plugged into computer, 'cause can't access the connect usb function.............firthy.

If it's software corruption, you could try reflashing the firmware.
I found this YouTube video with instructions. Hopefully it works for your model.
If that doesn't fix it, it most likely is a hardware problem which means you'll have to send it in for repair or replacement if it's still under warranty.
