I WANT TO USE VOICE INPUT WHILE A PHYSICAL KEYBOARD IS PLUGGED IN.

I just bought a lenovo a3000. When i want to input text into any application a virtual keyboard appears on the screen. On this keyboard there is a microphone key. I can switch to voice input by tapping the mic icon. So far so good, very nice. HOWEVER, sometimes i want to use a physical keyboard which i plug into the micro usb port. Now when in an application the virtual keyboard does not appear and i can only input via the physical keyboard. Even though i have a physical keyboard i still want to sometimes use voice input, but there is no way to activate it from the physical keyboard, and i cant get the virtual keyboard to display when the physical keyboard is plugged in.
Is there a solution? i have been searching a lot but can not find one.
