Root A2SD+ Error?! Help?

Very Recently I had successfully flashed a ROM (CyanogenMod 7 for my HTC Desire GSM). Through a long quest, I needed DarkTremor A2SD+ on my ROM.
I may have got the latest version of a2sd+ I'm not sure.
I saw a tutorial to install it, and in recovery, you had to goto mount -> mount /data and /system. Now when I did this I noticed that when I did both, they would switch from Unmount <-> to mount again - like nothing was changed. I went and flashed the a2sd zip, no problem at all.

After installing A2SDGUI from the play store I opened it and it said:
Code:
[B]Existing A2SDGUI[/B]
A2SD script does not run properly,
better do "a2sd check" in terminal emulator!
Maybe your Version is below 2.7.5.2
And Closed.

I've uploaded a pic on the bottom stating the error in Android Terminal Emulator. Also the .zip file I used.

Hey, just looked at your image (couldn't view it on my phone last night), it looks like it couldn't find your EXT partition to mount it. Did you check with Quick System Info? That would show your EXT partition, also did you make it primary in Gparted?
I also see it "asked are you root?" in your screenshot, from my (limited) experience you normally start terminal sessions with su for superuser, not sure if that had an affect also.

I also think you can boot into recovery and mount your EXT partition if it is saying it isn't mounted (there may be a way to do this without recovery but I am not aware of one).

With the A2SD I suggested you just flash it from your recovery and it will in effect overwrite whatever A2SD solution you are currently using but I think we need to establish if your EXT is OK first.

I use darktremor script but on a stock rom and all is working fine. I have an older version than yourself (Version 2.7.5.2-1). I dont recall having to mount anthing in recovery, I just followed the instructions to install the script from this page facebook.com/note.php?note_id=158809660835039

Older scripts can be found on this page forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715940

Before you go any further you need to confirm that your ext partition is set up and working correctly. Make a nandroid back up and copy entire contents of sd card to pc before messing with anythin, just in case.

Thanks for those links. For some reason, AP2SD wanted the newest version of it. I'm not sure why. (It's probably because your on a stock ROM).

My ext3 partition is working fine by the looks of it. I partitioned my sd card not long ago

Glad you seem to have got it set up. There aren't really any 'features' other than it makes your phone think the ext partition is internal memory and all apps installed will now go to the ext part. This means whereas on your pre-rooted Desire you could only really install a handful of apps you can now install A LOT, I think I have 30+ downloaded from the market with over half my 1GB partition left!!

Now you'll be OK to restore your apps and more, if you want some good, useful apps for rooted users give a yell.

I am not sure you need that command, certainly not to makes apps go to sd, it maybe moves your dalvik cache to sd, not 100% sure.

Right so you're screen shot shows: -
You SD Card (the FAT32 part) is quite full with only 640mb left (you could remove the ROM zip file now if that is still on there and I like to keep a backup of my backups also)
A2SD is working as 0.11Gb has been used
You still have decent internal storage (probably because no bloat)
System storage still quite high - did you change your hboot before flashing CM7?
System cache and memory, well that's just info really, not to do with your SD card.

Everything seems more clear now, thanks.
I'm starting to remove junk on my sd card. Could I remove bloat-ware such as .footprints (some app on Stock ROM I never use) and .quickoffice? Then again, NAND backup to Stock would cause issues...?

Pretty confused about that. I'll have a look what it says on hboot. I don't think so, CM7 is my first ROM from stock.
All I did was Flash the ROM like normal:~
#Wipe
#Flashed CM7
#Flashed CM7 Google Apps
#A2SD+

EDIT: Every time I install an app (ones I need, Quick System Info; Titanium etc.) my Internal memory goes down. Now 76MB. It's slowly going back to my old problem of "Insufficient Storage Space".
Installing a2sd+, I can't see any difference :/
I'll continue researching...

Cool, glad you are clear :D
You can remove those no problem. A great tool is SD Maid, you can use that to search for 'corpses' which are files/folders on your SD card that belong to apps that are no longer on your phone, it will clear all that up for you. It's great for clearing caches and stuff like gallery thumbnails which can take up precious room on your SD.

There is a bit of a list here AlphaRev 1.8 about partition tables and the different sizes, however if you want to flash different ROMS then you may want to stick at stock because not all ROMs will fit in the smaller Hboots.

You would know if you changed your hboot, basically some ROMS use a smaller system partition and people made hboots for these ROMS to fit into allowing more room for apps and forgoing the need for A2SD. I know that CM7 had a specific hboot made for it. Never changed mine as you need S-off and I never bothered with that.

Lol, just checked and I was right, that command moves your dalvik cache to the sd-ext, therefore freeing up even more internal memory ;)
Trust me you'll feel like you've got a new phone now because you can install apps without having to worry what size they are and whether you may have to remove one first!!

Another tip, you may want to calibrate your battery (recommended when flashing a new ROM), I use BatteryCalibration https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en and it works a treat, just follow the instructions.

Silly me, I realized I have an older version!
-----------------------------------------------------
Strange...I opened Terminal Emulator and I typed in su, immediately, my phone rebooted twice.
Well it seems it's fixed! I can open AP2SDGUI.
Hurrah!

How can I save space with AP2SD+? What surprising features are there?
Hi!
Greetings of the day from sagar,
i have samsung galaxy y duos s6102 and i have rooted my phone, installed iduos kernel 1.3.1, i've created ext 2 partition in my SD Card class 4 using minitool in win 7 hp sp1, installed a2sdgui in my phone, reboot my phone, installed dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip....but still when i try to open a2sdgui it has an error message saying:
" A2SD Script does not run properly, better to do "a2sd check" in the terminal emulator! Maybe your version is below 2.7.5.2"
Would you please help me to solve this problem with a2sdgui? what should i update? 0 a2sdgui or a2sd script or that dtapps2sd pack? how?Kindly provide an alternate method or option of a2sdgui also.
Thanks in advance

Hi Sagar

You may find more specific help in your device forum. However I can tell you that minitool usually does a very poor job of creating & aligning partitions. There is a guide within the Desire root guide sticky thread that will explain how to partition with Gparted which is much more reliable & the recommended method in this forum.
