--This is not even a port really - just some edits to make it easy for folks just to be able to flash it without editing themselves.

DOWNLOAD HERE (2/5 version)

What I did:
  • Installed my APN Fix (#3)
  • Edited / Confirmed build.prop entries
  • Replaced Sim Toolkit with our MK5 version
  • Replaced the eri.xml file for Virgin Mobile

Steps for clean flash (recommended):
  1. Factory reset
  2. Flashed Carbon ROM
  3. Flashed Gapp (I used the PA Gapps)
  4. Flashed Kernel
  5. Flashed the KitKAt 4.4 Dalvik Optimizer (Bionic not really needed)

------------------------------------------------------------

Steps for dirty flash (not really recommended):
  1. Flashed Carbon ROM
  2. Flashed Kernel
  3. Flashed the KitKAt 4.4 Dalvik Optimizer (Bionic not really needed)
(No Gapps needed on dirty flash)

------------------------------------------------------------

Kernels Ive use so far that work:

------------------------------------------------------------

Listen - I just repacked the ROM to work on ours, so please give the thanks to the true developers and source.

Change logs:

or
From Carbon ROM Home Page

Thanks to:
MassStash For the ROM
decimalman for DKP kernel
GideonX for BMS Kernel
imoseyon for Lean Kernel
kszaq for the patch
Sorry I'm not sure who made the PA Gapps but please thank them if you find out who.

i really appreciate your work, the best rom was your last one before this MK5 stuff came out, great battery life and smooth ... although i love this carbon as well, the ability to send and recieve pictures is a problem with GoSMS.. i think in Hangouts i can get them but i really like gosms..is there a fix for this or is this the trade off for this ROM?

Honestly -tradeoff for now.

For some reason Virgin mobile encrypts mms.

I wasn't sure where to post this so admin please feel free to move.

I'm running Carbon 4.3 and love it. My only issue is that I don't receive voice mail messages. All I get is a message from Sprint to call 650-603-0000 which always is a busy signal, or instructions to go to a web page that links to a"Play" button, but does nothing. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have:
Galaxy S3
Virgin Mobile
SPH-L710

You can install the voicemail app from jdsingle's mk5 ROM. I linked it here http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6378728.

Flash the carbon 4.4 last night, Oh its sooooo good. but I couldn't get MMS to work for the life of me so I had to go back to my 4.3 :(. I did try the mopedryder fixes and none of the worked. Anyone get mms to work?

i used GoSMS and it didn't work either, switched to Handcent and it works,GoSms is 100% better in my opinion but ill use this until theres a fix for it.

I am testing the current unofficial version of the KitKat Carbon ROM. So far very nice.

Since I already did the minor things needed for it to work on our phones I thought Id share it.

First the ROM

DOWNLOAD HERE

What I did:
  • Installed my APN Fix (#3)
  • Edited / Confirmed build.prop entries
  • Replaced Sim Toolkit with our MK5 version
  • Replaced the eri.xml file for Virgin Mobile

Here is the steps I took in order:
  1. Factory reset
  2. Flashed Carbon ROM
  3. Flashed Gapp (I used the PA Gapps)
  4. Flashed DKP Kernel
  5. Flashed the KitKAt 4.4 Dalvik Optimizer (Bionic not really needed)

Listen - I just repacked the ROM to work on ours, so please give the thanks to the true developers and source.

In step #4 (Flashed DKP Kernel)...are you referring to this one:
MD5 Sum:

Correct the one I flashed was:

dkp-aosp44-2013-12-26-testing.zip
MD5 Sum: 70086887d62a12877460be40cd7da922

As for my APN Fix - not trying to troll. The thread is here:

http://androidforums.com/virgin-mob...ms-fix-wip-cm-aosp-tw-update-2014-1-18-a.html

Try the #3 fix. If it doesn't work then try #2. The only real difference between the two is the Sim Toolkit. #2 is MG2 version and #3 is the MK5.

The #1 has a much better chance to get MMS working, but it also wont connect via LTE - at least from testing.

WOW! I am surprised.

MopedRyder, you are incredible!

I can confirm that I am getting calling, texting, LTE, and MMS send and receive.

I flashed the ROM, the Gapps, the kernel and the dalvik optimizer and out of the blue some old MMS's that I sent to myself a while back popped up! You are amazing.

Everything is so smooth, and I've had no major issues so far, only a few things I had to do differently (compared to CM11) to get personalization just right.

There's only one tiny little issueI'm having and it's that this rom doesn't play too nicely with GravityBox[kk], specifically with status bar tweaks.
