My wife and I both have the original Droid X, purchased in late 2010. They are both up-to-date with the latest that Verizon has supplied. Mine is rooted (so I could uninstall bloatware and backup my stuff), hers is not.
They both have the same problem: About 50% of the time, the time between pressing the green "call" button after dialing a number, and when the phone actually places the call, if between two to five minutes.
This is significantly frustrating. The problem has developed slowly, but has been getting worse and worse over time. I plan ahead now, if I want to make a call, and I can do a bunch of stuff while the phone is just sitting there pondering its task.
If you get anxious, and try to dial again while it's waiting, it doesn't help. It is waiting for something, I don't know what. It will queue up that dial as well, and then try to merge the calls when it finally gets around to doing to job. I've had it try to dial and merge five calls to my wife, all at once.
I've googled around, and have not found anything useful other than "factory reset". My phone is rooted, I am technologically savvy, is there anything we can do to try and diagnose the problem?
