Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] [ROM] [Stock-4.1.2] Solar ROM

I have no idea as to why play store crashes on you. I even reflashed to test it for you, and it didn't fc. As for after clicking roboto, you just click accept, and it'll apply itself. It's not drastically different, but i like the style of it. It's called Ubuntu.

Huh, i reflashed the rom and it still did it. idk. And the font is quite cool. I thought you meant like maybe we can use custom fonts of our choice.

Hmm. Alright, I'll replace Google Play Store again in the next update. Thanks latenight and redhead for letting me know! Also, I noticed that superuser had stopped working for me, so I'll be replacing that in the next update as well. Has anyone else had that issue?

I've always used the Superuser with the # symbol that's a light blue. It's always worked perfect, and it looks less scary. :p lol.

In the next update, PLEASE try and include the link2sd. Im tired of not being able to update my apps because of "insufficient storage" - which is total bs. Im on the stock rom btw. I don't want to make the jump until I know this problem is solved permanently. Thanks!

Do you mean the app "link2sd"? Or the apps2sd mod? Because the link2sd is an easy fix, just download it from the play store, follow the directions and you're set. You must have a lot of apps though, because I have around 600-700mb of internal storage with around 110 user apps according to link2sd. If those apps do an extra download after you open them for the first time, use Gl to sd. That takes all the data of those apps and puts it in a folder on the sd card, which gives more space

As for the apps2sd mod, that's a whole other ballpark. reading through that thread tells me there are certain changes to the boot.img and the /system partition I have to make (in order for it to be pre-installed) that I simply do not have the ability or time to make right now. That requires knowledge of Linux commands and access to Linux, neither of which I have at the moment :/ I am trying to get both though! I also have to study for the ACT test & I have an interview for my job (junior year is crazy)

However, I will try my best to think of a way that will make it work!

Your a junior!??!? In high school!?! Oh snap me 2! I know, junior is crazy huh? I got the workload of 5 AP classes and then 2 honors, and then i have Tennis everday afterschool from 3:00 to 5:30. Not to mention the extra college classes im taking at the local community college. I don't know where you get the time to make ROMS! But dam I do appreciate your work. Just installed it last night, downloaded about 20 apps, and the storage thing popped up again. Also btw the system update v6, keeps popping up. I don't know whether to decline or accept.

Wow, that's a lot of stuff you've got going on as well! I'm only in all honors, but i have band, and I work at the six flags theme park in my area. The way i got around the notification popping up is going into the /cache in a root explorer, deleting the zip that's right there, then settings, system updates, update lg software, accept, let it time out, it shouldn't reboot. Then press the back button a few times and you should be golden. Also, what are some of the apps you've downloaded, just to give me a better understanding of why you're running out of space? Some apps, i.e Reddit Sync or Google+ like to cache hard, so periodically going into settings, apps, all, (menu button, sort by size which may say sort by name at first) click on the top ones, and scroll down to the clear cache button, and click it. I'm glad you like it, but it definitely has a long way to go still

Hey thanks for the response. Its been a busy week, atm Google chrome seems to be taking up most of the space on my phone. I'll try to upload some screenshots. I downloaded a couple games but yea. I have no idea what's taking up the space.

Hello everyone. I'm sorry that this ROM hasn't gotten any love from me recently, it's been a busy time for me, especially with school and band. I did, however, discover a possible way to get the Apps2sd mod working. If someone has it installed already (and you're running this/stock with it installed), can you please make a backup in cwm, upload and link me in pm the boot.img, and the system.ext4.tar.a and tar.b ? I would greatly appreciate that. If not, I will be downloading the mod, installing it to my phone, and trying to put it in the ROM as early as this Sunday. It seems that someone also has an overclocked kernel built, (and since my boot disk of Ubuntu broke, I can't compile a kernel) so with their permission I will try to include it once it's released. Or, if the creator would rather I made my own, I'll take a weekend, set up another boot disk, and try to compile one for the ROM.

Setow, thanks for uploading the pics for me! I don't know what is taking up all the space on your phone either, but it does look to be chrome. I have a few more questions for you, and then I'll be able to help you out a bit more. first, do you have an SD card? (I'm assuming yes.) What is the size of the SD card, and do you have it partitioned? Do you have access to a computer, and if so, is it Windows, Mac, or Linux? If Windows, can you download and install programs? If so and it's not partitioned, download and install Paragon Partitioner, and SD Formatter (I believe is the name of the second one), format the SD, then partition it with paragon. I personally have my SD card split 27.05GB for the main partition, and 2.65GB for the second partition, both primary and formatted as Fat32. Depending on the size of your SD, it may vary for you. Make sure you have the contents of your card backed up on your computer. Definitely read this once you've partitioned your card, and then run Link2SD, follow the on-screen instructions, reboot, click the funnel-looking icon, set it to user, press the three dots in the top right, multi select, click the icon farthest to the left (not the check), click the dots again, create link, all three checked, and click okay. Doing this usually frees up a lot of space, as you can see in my picture.

Wow, that was long, really long. Again, I am sorry that this fell into the back seat for me

I googled ways to switch internal with external and I found this

http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-f3/801368-mod-app2external_sd-fixed-duplicate-files.html

it's the only thing that has ever worked for me, and I hope it helps some people out here who have issues with the internal memory

Yep, that's exactly what i was talking about when I said the Apps2SD mod :D i was planning on it being enabled as soon as you flashed the version of the ROM with it installed, so that's why I need those files haha

Yea, i have an 8gb sd card that is not partitioned. Also I do have a win 8.1 computer, but I don't really have time to do all that. As you said, junior year is tuff. Especially now that I have to study for my 5 AP exams. Hopefully a cm Rom will be released soon with the storage fix. I just cant wait! Thanks for the response though! :D

Hey guys, just upgraded to this phone from the Samsung Reverb and rooted it about 10 min ago. I have the ZV6 version and wanted to know if I could still install this ROM even though I have ZV6 and not ZV5. I can't stand the stock LG skin that this phone has and I want to go to a more pure android feel. I was using Super Stock ICS before, so I wanted to go to something similar, which this is. This ROM looks great by the way.

Nevermind, I just browsed the forum and found my answer. CWM only works with ZV5, so I won't be able to flash this ROM unless I unroot and start over again. Does anyone know how to get rid of the LG stock skin? Is it just an app I have to delete with Link2SD?

Really cuzz I got cwm on mine with v6 already on it... Can't say it's usable cuzz it wipes my data every time I use it so I don't use it but still have it just in case ^_^

I downgraded to ZV5 and got this ROM running. One problem though, my data 3g/4g isn't working. I can click on it and activate it, but it doesn't pick up any signal. On stock, I was getting a 4g connection almost everywhere. And is the rom supposed to look like the pictures provided, because mine doesn't look like that, it still looks like the stock LG skin. It does have a cool google boot animation though.

Sorry I've been gone, I literally want to throw this phone out a window. It keeps breaking on me, without me physically doing anything it, so I'll have to have it replaced for the third time soon. Lost signal, you've got me there, I didn't change anything to do with the radio. Try updating prl and profile, see if that fixes it. Yes, the ROM is supposed to look like the screenshots, the only thing I can think of would be to hit nova settings, look and feel, icon pack, kit kat.
