fastboot flash boot Stock_kernel_restore.img

Okay I am really impressed with slim bean. It works perfectly on my phone except for the fact I cant get 3G. I backed up my 3g and Imei like instructed reinstalled Irom5.apk and ran it and restored my Imei. Still no 3G.

I am useing T-Mobile. So I checked to see what networks were avaible in settings and it only recognized 2g ATT and 2g T-mobile. I am in the city and have used 3g from both networks and had really good service. Is there some setting or something I am over looking?

Lastly if I go back to Stock do I still need to install the gingerbread baseband or is that part of the backup image I saved in Titanium Backup.

I am somewhat of a noobie here so bear with the dumb questions.

Hey Mrniight34;

If you return to stock, or decide to try CyanogenMod 7.2 (both are Gingerbread) you will have to flash the Gingerbread baseband again. You will know if you forgot very quickly, as you will not be able to make calls or send any texts.

As for the 3G, sometimes people have to enter the APN information manually. The first post, in the link below, is the AT&T information, and a few posts down you will find the information for T-Mobile.

http://androidforums.com/fusion-2-all-things-root/703317-t-apn-settings-huawei-fusion-2-a.html

You will find the APN settings close to where you checked what networks are available. I don't have the phone anymore, so I don't remember exactly what the setting is called.

Good luck!

:D

Thanks ZeRose,

I figured out what it was. I had just updated the super user app and I noticed that when I restored my imei it was giving me a small error box that first said failed to gain superuser access and then it would say file updated. I was confused because I keep seeing the file updated box and thought it was working right. I'm nearsighted and I had to get my spectacles out. - lol.

Since the superuser update the app is not giving me a box that allows me to grant anything access? I had to allow everything access before I could run IRom5 and get things correct. Have I goofed up a setting or something in the supersuer app?

I now have 3g access but it doesn't seem like it connects as well as it use to I only get one bar and unless I am outside it drops back to edge constantly. I am really close to a T-Mobile store and I know they have really good coverage in this area. I may try another ROM and see if there's a difference, Any suggestions?

Hey again;

That is kind of strange you were having issues with Superuser. I would suggest a few things before making the jump to a new ROM. This one, in my opinion, was the best for this phone.

First, I would go into the superuser app and see if you've denied any app permission that needs it. Then I would reboot into recovery mode and wipe the Dalvik Cache and the Cache partition. This will not delete any of your information, just cleans up a bit; it is similar to deleting the temporary files on your PC. Don't do Factory Reset, that will delete your info.

After the reboot (which will take longer than usual, maybe two minutes, depending on how many apps you have on there)

Then check if your back to good.

If not, message me, and I will try to get back to you asap.

I changed some settings and superuser is now asking me before it allows any program that needs root access. That was totally my goof. Its back to normal

I have wiped the dalvik and the cache and rebooted.

It still will only occasionally go to 3G and seems stuck on edge for the most part and occasionally even loses that.

I've been running this rom for a long time now and just noticed a couple of things. I could not find where to clear the cache at for starters. The other things is I'm trying to play music to a Bluetooth speaker and it won't do it. My wife's phone does running gingerbread but I can't so I know it's not the speaker. Anybody have any ideas on either?

Sorry for the late reply, I had to go run some errands.

Hey Saintii;

I never played the music through the Bluetooth, so I'm not sure what advice to give you to fix it, or even what direction to point you in.

Mrniight34,

Another of the ROMs I really liked was TESLA V1, it was pretty feature packed. I always had lag issues when I used any of the ROMs that were 4.2.2 and above. That is just my experience though.
