Hi, currently have a Galaxy Note bought used about a year ago and it's flaking out, time to get a new phone. My options on ATT next are Lg G2, Galaxy S3/S4, HTC one, Lg optimus pro g, moto X, Note 3. I have been researching up the wazoo about always on voice like the moto x has. It's a feature I'm really wanting but from what I'm seeing the moto x and lg optimus pro g are the only phones that have that? Or will the kitkat update give me that capability on other phones? Or is there an app that I possibly could use with any phone to access that? Sorry for the ignorance but appreciate the advice. I've enjoyed my note but I wouldn't mind going a little smaller.

Thanks again!

I would wait cause moto x may become available to get . that's not a bad device very good .but that feature is in many apps in the playstore . I fell in love with one called Assistant. Free app and paid version . you can change the aviator on the phone to a sexy female or a dude . and you can get different clear voices . very nice the other is Aria voice assistance another nice one .you ask it anything it gets it only thing is u have to give the app full access to the phone :(

The thing to remember... always listening does put a drain on your phone's battery if not specifically designed for it. The Moto X has a special ultra-low battery use circuit design to allow the main part of the phone to enter sleep mode while the mic can stay on listening for the "OK Google Now" command. -- Other phones will not be able to sleep and so will drain the battery more while always listening for a command.

So while a software solution can be found to get other phones to behave the same way, they won't be able to do it without hurting your battery time.
