So what do we know about the Galaxy S5?

I was thinking the same thing.
paying full price for my devices makes me look in askance at this S5.
Dont see any game changer tech in it that interests me at all.
slightly bigger camera? finger print button?
If you dont have an S4 or Note 3... I can see upgrading...if you have a note 3 or S4... whats the draw?

Samsung- I'm sick of cheap plastic phones.
I like the tech- but I'm utterly sick of cheap plastic... find a way of keeping microsd (love my exfat 64gb microsd cards) and replaceable battery....won't have a phone without those...
In fact if HTC figures out a way to get its flagship phones back to those two features...I'm jumping ship... speakers on the front make so much more sense.

i hardy call it cheap plastic. I rather have plastic over metal, metal dents and sctratches

my plastic s4 has scratches and chips. metal looking paint rubbed off..
I paid full price.... not the .99 cent like some did..
so not feeling the cheap plastic

Metal cases suffer the same issues if you don't look after them, remember the problems with the iPhone 5? Apples responded with "scratches and chips are ‘normal"

Aluminium is a soft metal and compromises have to be made when using it in the body of a phone or tablet, the result is they can scratch very easily and the scratches stand out.

Plastic obviously still scratches but it's not as noticeable and it's easy to replace a plastic back back cover if it's scratched or damaged, you can't do that with a phone that has a full metal body.

My Galaxy S4 has no chips or dents, just a few micro scratches on the back cover which are barely noticeable and I've had it since launch, will pickup a replacement back cover for a few quid off ebay before I sell it.

The whole premium thing is all in your head, aluminum is not some fancy material, it's a cheap metal.

I hope I don't catch flack for this but I hope the screen isn't over 5" I think the screen size of the S4 is perfect. I have petite hands and anything over 5" I think will be too big. I always trade up with the next big thing comes out and I don't want to be disappointed like I was when HTC did away with the removable back and SD card slot. :)

The Note 3 has a larger display than the Note 2, yet the phone is slightly smaller. Current rumors have the S5 display at 5.25, so I wouldn't be surprised if the phone remains the same size or smaller than the S4.

While it's easy for so many people to pick apart the S5 just because they can, doesn't mean this is not a very good new upgrade.

When one chooses to look at the positives, the larger battery especially, I find this S5 great for those who may not have upgraded for some time.

Presently I'm very happy with my combo of a Note 3 & Nexus 5 so I'm going to pass and keep enjoying what I have.

All this discussion will not change the mind of anyone who wants the S5 like myself. I know many will no upgrade and will keep on talking about the negative but, remember what's bad for some is good for millions:)
and all this jokes about a band aid is always great to have one available, I'll have it in blue:D
