My Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has stopped working.

It was working fine a couple days ago, I charged the battery to 100% and unplugged it. After a few minutes of reading e-mails, the screen flickered and went black (shut down). I turned it back on and it tried to boot, but shut down again after 5-6 seconds. After trying this 3-4 times, I plugged it in, turned it on, and it worked. But it only works while it's plugged in. If I unplug it, it crashes (shuts itself down). The battery still reads 100% charged. What is the problem and how can I get it corrected?

Yes, I updated to the latest version (Jellybean) about three months ago, and have checked for updates monthly. The last time being two weeks before my problem.

After trying everything I said in my initial post, I performed a factory reset. Still no change. It only works when the device is plugged into the power adapter. It still shows a full battery, but if it isn't plugged in, it shuts down within seconds from the time booting begins.
