I really think that Samsung is playing leap year.

The SGS4 was intended to capture the SGS2 upgrade market.

The SGS5 is intended to capture the SGS3 upgrade market.

Otherwise, if you look just year to year, it's all incremental and therefore not exciting.

The outer design doesn't change because they want a recognizable package for previous owners.

I automatically discount rumours of Samsung using different body materials though. I remember claims that the S3 would have a ceramic body, then the S4, Note 3 and S5 would all be metal. The S4 was going to have a flexible screen too.

Basically the rumour mongers don't even invent new "information" half the time, they just reuse the old stories.

I'm not impressed by curved screens. I don't see the point of one with a 5 in screen.

I don't know: the more rumors I read about the Note 4 the more I want it. 3-sided flexible OLED display? Waterproof? Sign me up

But then the Note 5 folding display appeals to me too. Phone or tablet... your call.

I have SO been waiting on this! But tragically it's gonna wait until my Note 4 comes out this fall. $200 for a memory card is just WAY past the ol' Chief's price point.

Good morning all - definitely underwhelmed by the S5. Really glad with my decision of going with the G2.

Strangely enough I am so happy with it that I am still running the base 4.2.2 ROM (with some Xposed modules) but I couldn't be happier. I am going to wait for the official 4.4 release (that AT&T and International carriers put out) to be merged into the 4.4.x ROMs to kill some of the SODs and freezes before I make my way up to some Kit Kat.

Yep. This is what iPhone users see when the next iPhone comes out. Unfortunately, the same is now true of Samsung users.

It's kind of true.

Rob, the site owner, looked at the low traffic in the thread that Kaat linked and came to the conclusion that maybe people don't want to discuss the SGS5.

That's straight from the horse's mouth, I am not making that up.

Continuing the discussion there would help those new to our site and help show Rob the love.

Guides might even move some posts over if you all are OK with that.

Been a while. Been lurking mostly.

Miss y'all. Miss being on staff, but that is neither here, but maybe there...

Anyway, just dropping in to let you all know that I am doing well.

My daughter, Olivia LaRee Martinez is expected any day now (ETA is March 13 but The Wife is 3cm dilated as of Thursday)!

Got a new job at Acura. Still 'severely' part-time at Best Buy just in case I find out I can't sell cars and I need a job. Funny thing is, I had this job at Acura back in June and declined it to go with Best Buy because of my love for tech. Now after 7 months of the same pay and not enough time (read: can't keep making what I'm making whilst proving myself) to dedicate to the next promotion, I'm taking a leap of faith...

I don't know how well I am going to do selling on commission. It was a fear I had last summer when I took the guaranteed paycheck at Best Buy instead of taking a risk...Still nervous...

But with another child coming at any moment, I went for it; I'm going for it...

On a different note, I've been blessed with the opportunity to join the Praise Team at my Church. I've been a part of the team since late October but it didn't feel real until recently. It has brought me closer to God, my Wife and kids and various family members and friends.

God is truly good no matter the circumstances. I know this because I am still able to do the things that need be done to live my life in a positive manner for my family and friends. And for that I am grateful.

As far as tech, I'm still rocking my Nexus 5 (of course!) while The Wife is still loving the 64GB iPhone I bought her last October. My Nexus 7 has several cracks in it and the digitizer is starting to fail in certain corners (thanks to my adorably rambunctious little 3 year old). My T-Mobile G1 is carrier unlocked, rocking Android 1.0 and serves as a backup phone. I still have my Samsung Chromebook and 5 year old Toshiba. The Toshiba is dual booting Ubuntu 13.10 and Windows 7 Professional (new job requires Windows; excuse me while I yack in the corner, lol)...

Might be getting a Moto G since my AT&T reception is horrific at work and it might be nice to have clients call me on a work cell instead of my personal. Guess Verizon will always find a way to get my money...

I should be getting to bed... Miss you all...roll call...
