Root [ROM][BETA][4.2.2] AOKP Jelly Bean for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 5/2/2014

This latest update is not allowing the update of the Signal Status Style to reflect the Signal text. Changing the Signal Style to force an update of the Status are no longer works.

I installed a third party app and the signal strength works fine so it has to be something with the ROM itself not updating the Signal Status Style.

I also discovered that the -125 comes from the EVDO and not CDMA which leads me to believe there is a config file not defined correctly.

Still Working for me. Do you remember changing anything radio related?

Hey Phenomx4... just my opinion... but it looks like 4.2.2 has come to a stable point. Any word on 3.x kernel and/or 4.4 rom?
Simply put they are ready when they are ready. Asking for an ETA ( estimated time of arrival) is a general no no in forums like this. Just be patient like we all are.

As far as the kernel his last commit was 2 days ago so he is obviously working on it, just let the man work. It's all good

My apologies, didn't mean/intend to sound pushy or impolite. Have to admit maybe a little anxious, just been watching/waiting for a long time and deliberating with myself on whether to wait or get a new phone.

Thank you Phenomx4 for all your hard work and effort. On that note... I myself know some C/C++ wouldn't call myself a guru, sometimes I sit here and think that I'd like to help out, but don't really know how to get started. If you need some help and could provide some guidance let me know, if you don't have time to because doing so would only slows you down, I totally understand! Anyways, good luck!!! Can't wait! :)

You know more than me. If you want to help then sure and hopefully we can get rid of the remaining bugs in 4.1 and 4.2 and get this 3.0 Kernel working.

OK I'll go ahead and give it a go in my spare time (you know after work). So I think I need the following...
What OS do I need?
Software dev tools?
Links to code?
Build instructions?

Once you give me these. I'll work on getting setup and everything building on my side and then I can start working on issues. At that point I'll probably need you to point me to areas in the code that have issues. Do you have a method/tool where you're tracking issues?

You can use this tutorial to get started. It lists everything you need

for some reason it added androidforums.com to the begging, HERE is the page

also I have a build setup script if you are interested HERE and general android doc's HERE

the general android doc's link also included the appropriate android rules file with instructions and it already includes elite 'support'

Status:
I've downloaded/installed Ubuntu 12.04 (on a virtual machine - do not have spare computer to only host Ubuntu). Anyway... I believe I've successfully completed the steps in the tutorial up to Download the source. I tried to initialize the jb-mr1 but got an error: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `newline` Anyway... I wasn't sure if I should proceed downloading this source to begin with. I figured that at this point you should point me to our rom and kernel sources. Ok, standing by!

Thanks man... apparently downloading the repo file from the link in the TUTORIAL was the issue... I instead downloaded it using the location recommended at AOKP.co: So You Want To Build AOKP JB? (Ubuntu 12.04+). The source code is downloading now.

phenomx4, I'm not performing the step at Download the kernel source... once again I believe at this point I should be pointed to our kernel source? Anyway let me know... once the aokp rom source is downloaded I'm ready to continue onto building.

jb-mr1 download complete.
I see the kernel sources in the link, 1 for ics/jb the other for kernel 3.0. Not sure which to download nor the commands to do so. Also didn't see any source for your mods to aokp? Do you only always modify the kernels? Seems like I'm missing gaps not covered by documentation. Anyway let me know.
