Root tethering in Windows 7 64bit

Wait. You're running the tether app (which is basically a router) on the phone? And a Linux box connects to it via USB but a Windows box won't connect to it via USB?

Or you have it installed on both the phone and a Linux box, it works on the Linux box (to tether something to the Linux box via USB) but not on the phone (to tether something to the phone via USB)?

Or something else entirely?

The two situations I presented are totally different, work totally differently, and have different ways of finding out why they don't work - if they don't. And if it's some other setup, it probably has still a different way of working and a different way of troubleshooting it.

Your explanation of what you're doing, what you expect and what the problem is, is a bit confusing. Could you make it simpler for those of us who aren't there seeing what's happening?
