The Tablet Tavern

I have come to the realization that my medical insurance provider's billing department is run by a bunch of flunkies. Looking over my billing history on their website, shows them crediting a payment made on the 27th of January, toward march's bill, jumping over February all together. The payment for March was just made on the 28th of February, and has cleared my bank already and does show up on my insurance provider, giving me a net balance of zero. It just bugs me that they apparently sat on the January payment, and applied it to the wrong month. The first payment which was for the January, was made in December. At least they processed that one timely.

They no longer accept credit card payments, (odd considering this is a major provider), and I use my banks bill pay service to pay it now....

That is why I NEVER pay a hospital or doctor bill on time. I always wait until the second billing cycle to pay it because they never get it right the first time.

I used to pay them right away and I'd continue to get bills for weeks. Then after a month or so, I'd get a check saying that they overbilled me.

I suppose it's because the insurance industry has made things so complicated, but I give no slack to the doctors.

Yes, but do your socks match? I am told that for engineering and professorial positions, mismatched socks are a prerequisite.

I am dressed. To work in this industry requires a 10 panel drug test. If they ask when I can test I say, 'Now'.

For those wondering here is what's on a 10 panel:

Amphetamines (including Methamphetamine)
Barbiturates
Benzodiazepines
Buprenorphine
Cannabinoids (THC)
Cocaine
Methadone
Methaqualone
Opioids (Codeine, Morphine, Heroin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, etc.)
Phencyclidine (PCP)
Propoxyphene
Synthetic cannabinoids (K2, Spice)
Tricyclic antidepressants
