Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Where is everyone going?

I would say camera is better with some more features, no touchwiz(Sony's ui doesn't look too shabby), more RAM, and that exquisite design :)...s5 is good too but its just not as premium looking, it has touchwiz and the back of the phone...*shudder*
Again, that is strictly my opinion...s5 is a good piece of hardware nonetheless...

Well more people are obviously getting the s5 than the z2 from sheer popularity. So in turn it would receive more off market support. Like stuff from here. no?

Also i don't even think the z1 was ever launched in the US so i doubt the z2 would be. But I agree with you the z2 is the more appealing of the 2 phones for me. I don't really need a heartrate monitor built in any way :p

the z1 came as teh z1s, however it launched last month on tmobile. you can buy the z1 and have it shipped from canada, or places like negrielectronics that buy up a bunch and sell em to us customers.

sony is very open about development, unlockable bootlaoders (on select models) and they put all their code on github with teh aosp project. as in they push the device trees etc that with some mods work on cm, they released a restore to stock tool for modders, and put out "beta" updates for advanced users to flash to test 4.3, 4.4 etc months before release. assuming you get the z2 international lte model it may not have as many stock roms, but due to the company and community it will be similar to this, plenty of optionbs but not flooded. on the bigger galaxy phones youll get 15 stock based roms that only have a few tweaks or a theme difference.

So the z2 is really appealing to me now but it seems like its not so much of an upgrade from the z1. So im probably going to ride this phone out for another year. Maybe see what the z3 will have :)

I think that one of the main improvements of the z2 was the vastly improved display, which always an area a lot of people criticized on the z1s...
So far, Sony has released their flagships about 6 months from each other so a z3 in October or Novemberish wouldn't be shocking...although they may decide to stop that, I personally think they shouldn't release z3 this year it causes more confusion for the consumer...

Most likely I will change over to t mobile get the s5 give my wife my s4 and retire the s3 she has now. She always likes my current phones, and I always want the newest.

Well, I read that the S5 will be coming to Metro in April so that will probably be my decision. It would be the Z2 but I doubt Metro will carry that as they have never carried a Sony device. I'm not too fond of using an unlocked T-Mobile version on Metro either, so im pretty much locked into the S5. Although a lot of the new devices from Huawei like that all aluminum-cased phablet look sick with all the same high end specs.

staying put,

service is great where i live so there's no reason for me to leave and i can bring any unlocked GSM phone to metro.

I'll likely get a GSM device and stay put also.

The point is to find out which phone you're switching to. Which service is cool too I just want to see which device sparks your eye. As of now still the z2. I saw that metro added the S5 to their website.

depending on the design, i might be going with one+. its made by peopel who know what android enthusiast want. i cant imagine teh cm team didnt weigh in with help and hope to push a device that really pushes the market.

No doubt it's going to be developmental heaven as well :)...the camera quality could help decide...
The thing is that even though it may push the market, it can't compete with the other OEMS... What do you think about the 800 over the 801 for processor though?...and what is the 805 supposed to have?...

Everyone flipped out when Moto went with a dual core S400 instead of a S600 in the moto x, and it seems to be holding its own and kicking butt. the s800 is the best chip of 2013, would you be willing to pay a higher cost and wait 6 months to get teh 805? when the speed difference may not even be noticeable, they went with 801/805 for a reason, its not worth a huge name jump.

my wife has teh s4 and takes all the pictures, my camera could take pictures that look like i smear vasoline on the lens, so long as i can make out whats going on the guys i share the pics to on hangouts dont care (usually somethign funny on xbox or a bumper sticker that makes me chuckle).

Yeah everyone has different areas of interest you know and a great camera is one of those for me...I had thought that the 805 would have 64 bit support or am I mistaken...

i honestly have no idea. i found the s3 to be a pretty solid device overall, the s4 improved on it by a lot with teh snapdragon 600, i imagine the 800 is a fairly nice big step up from even that. id be content with the 600 in terms of fluidity and speed, so having 800 is just a bonus IMO. there isnt too many things that are taxing these days on devices, besides the oem skin of course :p, but thats gunna be CM on this device :).
