Root [International] Default touchwiz s4 australia i9505 ROM

Hey there

Im trying to locate a download of the default 4.2.2 touchwiz rom for my gt-i9505 telstra version i can only locate either broken hotfile links or links that lead to obnoxious download sites that download very slowly time out before the download is complete. does anyone have a good link where i can obtain touchwiz? i need to undo a root where I uninstalled too much stuff buggered up picture sms functionality somewhat and somehow messed it up badly enough that kies doesn't even detect it. It was my first root and the difference is massive but now ive learned what i shouldn't remove as well.

Also i have several games on the phone mainly gta sa i don't want to lose my saved games I cant force it to copy to the sd card is there a way to save my saved games?

thanks so much!

Also sammobile doesn't have an Australian version of i9505 is it called something else?

The 2 main, reliable, sources for stock Samsung firmware downloads are...

SamMobile

Samsung Updates Live

Both offer premium, fast, downloads in order to finance their operations. Otherwise, SamMobile takes about an hour on free download, for that file... depending on your computers d/l speed.

Wow thank you so much for this detailed, incrediably useful response complete with great links! I guess ill download the 4.3 update .my device kept not finding an update when I attempted to update to 4.3 on my device in the past so this is the easiest way. The about device says 4.2.2

Also thank you for those guides I'll read though them carefully. I started off with obvious stuff like blurb but then removed stuff like the clock and replaced it with timely and so on i guess i went a bit too far. The difference is staggering in terms of battery life and responsiveness. I particularly noticed a huge improvement when using it to play games with my allshare cast.

Also sammobile is going at 400+k rather than the 30k or so other crappy sites were giving me so this is very good.

^^I agree totally. If you are not "Knoxed" ie donot have Knox yet, they're really is no need to and almost certainly void your warranty tripping it's flag rooting/installing a custom recovery. Flash one of the above and save yourself from Knox in the first place.

I'll make you chuckle - I was presented with a Knoxed 4.3 update by wife. There was I waiting for an old bootloader version of 4.3. My missus had my GS4 and was playing with it, and she "helpfully" installed the 4.3 update OTA for me. She honestly thought she was doing me a favour, it's a good job I (still) love her.

Sorry to bump this old threat, but am hoping some kind people here can help.

I also cannot determine which stock ROM for my s3 to restore( S3 GT-i9300) According to Phone Info App the Original CSC is BTU (the s3 was bought outright from Kogan) and now is rooted and has cyanogenmod installed. I have a need to revert my work phone to stock due to AirWatch work policy (MDM) - else i am in real trouble. Hence i m trying it out first on the s3 to get a hang of it.

I am able to find the BTU firmware on SamMobile, but which PDA should I select? or it doesn't matter?

Will it cause any problems the fact that I am in australia and installing a UK firmware?

Also, do i need to revert to stock recovery as well? how do I do that? Currently i have clockworkmod.

Thanks in advance.
