1st off I would like to say that I am not the developer of this ROM. All credit goes to the LiquidSmooth Team! :) I just love the ROM and wanted to bring it over to our Android Forums Boost S3 section. With that being said, here is .....

LIQUIDSMOOTH!!

LiquidSmooth is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. This is one of the best ROMs I have ever ran on my phone and I absolutely love it!! Hopefully you will too. I am going to post a few links to help you find the main thread and the nightlies. Also note that the Team has started making unified builds for the S3. This does away with the pain of removing the asserts so we can flash it on our Boost phones. All you need to do is download the ROM and the GAPPS that are needed. Make sure you always follow standard flashing protocol when flashing the ROM and GAPPS (factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache). Both the ROM and GAPPS can be flashed together. ENJOY!! :D

NOTE: I HAD AN ISSUE WHEN I 1ST FLASHED THIS ROM. I USED THE PA GOOGLE STOCK GAPPS PACKAGE AND HAD SOME ISSUES. I WENT BACK AND TRIED A DIFFERENT GAPPS PACKAGE. I WENT WITH THE FULL MODULAR PACKAGE AND THAT FIXED ME RIGHT UP.

You do not have to use these GAPPS but I do. There are several packages to choose from and I recommend them all EXCEPT FOR THE GOOGLE STOCK PACKAGE. I recommend staying away from it. If there is something that isn't in the other packages that you need, you can always get it from Google Play.

COMADOSE MOD- This mod is a great addition to most any ROM. Remember to make a backup before flashing it. :D

About to make a thread on the VM side, which I was just planning on copying over here, so thanks for saving me the extra step! Absolutely loving this ROM, agree with Wy that this has converted me from Carbon, which is definitely saying something. If you are on a build older than 3/9 (I'm downloading 3/10 right now) then get on 3/9 or later ASAP, the new and improved AOSB recents switcher is sexy as hell! Plus all the other customization options are amazing, I am able to run ART on LS due to all the Xposed mods I was using being already incorporated into this ROM. Plus, if y'all have been behaving yourselves lately, I will upload my personal copy with some extra goodies added in! We'll see...

Biker my friend, I would recommend adding the G+ link as well, they don't appear to keep their website very updated, but the G+ is a great place to get the latest scoop on things and interact with some pretty cool users outside of our forum.

Will do Struckn. Great idea. :D

That's weird I got a ton of fcs once I flashed the gapps and updated Google now and Google play services in the playstore I couldn't even get on the browser had to go back to carbon

The 1st time I flashed Liquidsmooth, I used the PA Google Stock Pack and it really screwed me up for some reason. I then went with the Full Modular Package and that fixed it. One thing I've noticed too is that Google Play has to be updated on all of the 4.4.2 KK ROMs I've ran.

I did a battery pull and booted back to recovery. I went through the whole process again of doing a factory reset (install new ROM) and all that stuff before flashing Liquid and the new GAPPS again. The 2nd time with different GAPPS did the trick bro.

I'm glad you brought that up. I need to make a note of that in the OP about the issue I had with GAPPS. thx

I highly recommend PA 0-Day GApps in general, and the Full Modular in particular. I don't like having the super-duper package they offer override a lot of things by default (launcher, keyboard, SMS app, etc.), and I think that is where a lot of problems arise. I still go in and remove the crap I'm never going to use from the Full Modular package, but it is the one that I like as a "base" for GApps.

Yep, I agree. That's where I had issues. The 1st package I flashed removed all kinds of AOSP stuff (MMS app, keyboard, etc) and replaced it with nothing but Google. The 2nd package left the AOSP apps and all was good. Even though I use a lot of 3rd party apps and remove a good many of the stock apps, the AOSP apps were still needed during the 1st flash evidently.

For those who are interested, you can download the Blacked Out or Cleared Out Play Store from Team Blackout, and swap it into your GApps package of choice, so that a better looking version of the Play Store boots up when flashing GApps, instead of needing two separate flashes. Just extract the .apk from the zip and drag it to the correct location in the GApps package.

Is there a way to write to my scard on this ROM? Or any 4.4rom for that matter? I can't do it and a lot of my apps use access to my sdcard but whenever I'm on a 4.4rom they can't write to my SD card.

That's an intentional move on the part of Google with KitKat 4.4.x, it has nothing to do with custom ROM development, just FYI. If Google continues to have their way, the next big update (either 4.5 or 5.0, depending) is going to cause major havoc in the world of root, from what I have read, so be prepared!

That's strange. The only FC I've gotten is systemui. I've actually gotten it several times but I just tap it and it goes away.

Hey bro, if you keep having issues with 3/9 try switching to 3/8. I never had any issues with it. :)

I'm getting ready to flash back to 3/8 myself. There's nothing seriously wrong with 3/9. It's just got one issue that is starting to annoy me. If I boot the phone up, let it sit and let the phone go to sleep w/o opening it as soon as the lockscreen pops up, the screen will not come on when I try to wake it. The tabs light up on the bottom but the screen stays black. I longpress power to hardboot it and then have to wait for it to boot up, then open the lockscreen as soon as I see it before the screen turns off. As long as I do that the phone runs fine and I have no problem turning it on if it's been asleep. I never had that problem with 3/8. Reverting back now. :)

Good to know. I had problems with 0309 this morning so I went back to 0308.

Does the OTA updater work now? It said that there was a 0310 update but I never got a good download. Of course, my signal was iffy.

On the Dev Host page it showed 0309 as the newest. That was this morning.

I downloaded 3/10 via the OTA, but was at home on WiFi, and it took at least twenty minutes. Posted my copy in the LS thread on the VM side if you want it, there are some extras I added in.

Awesome bro. I started the DL today but stopped it after 20 minutes. Thanks for sharing your copy. :D

Yeah I just updated to 3/10 this morning using the Ota updater I probably just go and run 3/8 because I'm starting to get annoyed with the issues you mentioned earlier and me dirty flashing 3/ over the messy 3/10 just made it worse 10

I just flashed Struckn's 3/10 and mine seems to be running great so far. :D

Edit. Been running it for awhile now with no issues. Looking good. :D

Update on 3/10 build-

Running great so far. I was running the stock kernel up until a few minutes ago. I went ahead and flashed dkp because I like all the options it offers that Lean doesn't. Don't get me wrong, the Lean kernel has been running great. I just want to see if I can get better battery life with some tweaking of dkp.

Struckn's modified version of the 3/10 build can be found here. Be sure to hit the thanks tab in his thread. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing how 3/10 is running for others. Have the people with 4G in their area been able to get it working? Please post your results. Thank you.
