Has anyone else gotten the text message from VM regarding going over the monthly 2.5g after which now you'll be t throttled to 2G speeds ...not even 3G...my text came today but my plan restarted today but it stated this was to began on 5/6/14. That would have been nice to know before the 12th but my service has sucked since I got the throttling message anyway I don't know about this it has dampened my spirits....2G no wonder.

Same here, just got it today...

Most likely there going to crack down a huge amount, cause from what I've seen from other users, they haven't throttled the s3 like at all till recently

Its basically a ploy for them to make more money, they figure you most likely won't download more then that 2.5 GB over data cause that be a lot of downloads are a couple large ones that would take forever, so if you do go over your probly tethering, which phone companies seemingly together decided they can charge us for lol

I have an unlimited data plan, also tethering is an option I was given from Samsung not VM so IMO VM has no right to say anything to me about it lol but that'd just me

Yup I got that today too. Sucks in theory, but I never come close to 2.5 GB a month (I don't make a conscious effort not to, I just never hit it. I usually hover around 1.5-2 GB and I surf quite a bit on it. No video streaming, just audio streaming)

I guess it would suck if I tethered, but honestly I don't understand why anyone would tether. Never really saw the point in tethering I guess.

I just got the S3 last month two days into my plan it said I got close to being over two days later I was supposedly over and a day later and have been throttled since about February18 until today the first day of my new cycle. I have never gone over until the phone switch so I'm wondering could their meter or whatever be incorrect.

Haha I'm with iMaYG...last month's throttle was terrible and to get the message after two days into my plan start impossible if it happens this month I'm calling its no way I used that much I know I didn't. I didn't question because I may have gotten happy just getting my S3 but really virgin mobile...naw they got me.

Just to be clear, this is not the message stating you are being throttled, this was to let customers know that they will be throttled if their 4g and 3g traffic goes over 2.5 gigs. So if you got this specific text, it does not mean you are currently being throttled, just letting you know something has changed. If you get near your data cap, then VM will send a separate text letting you know you are near your cap, then another to let you know when you have hit\exceeded your cap.

I switched to an LTE phone from a wimax/3G phone. I had no wimax here, so I was always on 3G. Anyway, I used 2.8 GB then I switched to the LTE phone. It's been unlimited, even after being throttled on my account already, and their site isn't counting my usage properly, which I'm taking advantage of while I can. LTE is new in my area, so maybe that's why...but I hope it stays, this is my main home internet....satellite is a sad joke :\

If you got VM then they'll eventually throttle you, as I was led to believe from users posts and links I seen online to VM, they didn't throttle on purpose in the beginning due to 2 reasons above most
A. They didn't have a tether system set and working for the phone like other phones or carriers had
B. I believe they had 4g issues in the beginning

Also if you ever use WiFi, or even if u leave wifi enabled and it randomly connects to unsecure networks that won't count towards your usage as it doesn't use the data

And satellite has always been a joke lol sometimes they got good deals but possibly losing everything cause there's some wind outside don't fly with me lol
