Help Is there a cheap way to replace the LCD screen?

So I'm not exactly sure how this happened, but according to the Sprint store I went to, the LCD screen was cracked (thus making it impossible to use). Apparently they're usually expensive, but I know sometimes you can find cheap parts online. I've been looking but have been having a hard time finding what I'm looking for.

I'm kinda frustrated at the moment, because the insurance still charges $150 which I personally find ridiculous. And on top of that, I still have to mail it in and play the waiting game.

The screen is one of the most expensive components in the phone unfortunately so even if you were just to buy that and replace it yourself, it would still be expensive.

$150 for a repair sounds pretty good value to me, I'd bite their hand off.

That does kinda suck though. I have the insurance and you would expect a lot better from it.

I recommend going on craigslist and looking for somebody who has a blacklisted phone. See if you can't get it off their hands cheap, and you will ensure that you get an OEM assembly. $150 will not land you OEM stuff. Or look for other faults that won't necessarily **** with the digitizer. Maybe water damage? Once you have the used device, disassemble your old phone and put all of the internals (especially the main board) in the craigslist device. The blacklist is tied to the main board, so it will solve that issue. Then you can sell the old device as parts or whatever. Cheapest method I have found, and as a repairman, it is really nice!

Just make sure you know how to disassemble and reassemble the gs4 without ******* it up. If it is your first time, I recommend youtube!

Man don't feel bad. I ruined a 2 week old EVO with soapy water. Tried to fix it myself and ruined the digitizer and main board. 300 dollars to repair it. I let someone that is a pro fix it for sure. For me. There are NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE..
