Root [ROM] BlueKingdom 1.4 - Updated 9/29

I don't know if anyone noticed this but i was having problems with some movies/tv playing on google play. when I did a google search the solution was to remove everything from the hosts file but to leave in the first line
127.0.0.1(just one space)localhost
Now I tried to do this on the phone using the steps but I couldn't get r/w to work. So I went into the zip for BlueKingdom and edited the zip and then flashed the edited BlueKingdom1.4.zip to my phone. Now my television show plays without a hitch. I am going to look for an app to manage ad blocking off of google play instead :)

Quick question JSSA.

I see the rom BK is clocked at 1.4 peak. But the standard is 1.2. What speed would you not clock it to?

Also the dolphin browser is a bit sluggish (still a good choice) but compared to using Puffin, puffin blows every browser away that I tested. Also puffin isn't like the standard browser in some way i can't explain. but is it because the single core can't handle loading the browser faster or what? that concludes to why i asked about how high it can go for improving browser experience such as mentioned for dolphin.

Just installed this today (I have Ting on the Sprint network)...works like a charm and my ICS is 10x faster. Thanks so much!

The only thing that doesn't work for my is MMS, because I have to change my MMSC server to mms.plspictures.com (For Ting) instead of the Sprint MMS server. I can't change it in ##3282# for some reason; if I try, it doesn't update the entry field and I can't commit my changes. Any help?

Hi,
I can't find "assisted dialing" setting or any other way to disable/setup code auto-prepend. Any number that starts with "+" or "0" is getting prepended with 011 or 1 respectively, so there is no way to dial any non-local number. That's making this ROM nearly useless for non-US users (at least CDMA ones, haven't checked GSM). Could you please fix this issue in this otherwise excellent ROM, or advice how to solve it manually. Thank you.

I think this is for the states only. Never saw any crazy dialing features in this ROM

I kept getting hung up on the white screen when attempting to boot into recovery on the cwm 5 marvel.img's. I finally used the '2FS CWM-based recovery v5.0.2.7' which btw I could not find a direct DL for, but it is in the 'b-PH44IMG.zip' directory. I am brand new and I don't know if I'm allowed to post the link, but pm me and I will give it to ya.
Awesome, very well running rom, I have tryed every other crap one in the past 3 days.

Awesome info! Never thought to extract the info like that.

WIFI app did not work for me. in the log, the first 10 items read as "failed"

Okay so I tried both versions. The no-lock version seems the better option for Freedompop users as far as i can see. The HTC version fc the freedom pop app as its about to open, that would not have worked for me, I need to check on my data usage. I also had to keep adding my email address to the FP message app. THe 4g toggle for Evo app gave me a hard time turning on, then it would turn off.

So I went back to the no lock. Much more smoother. I hoofed it up to be attractive, well at least to me. 4g Toggle for evo worked fine, thoug initially hard to turn on. Once on it stayed on, however then I downloaded the xda framework and saw that the 4g app just turned off and refused to turn on, 3g text returned, thats how I know. XDA Framework gave me no problem with original FredomPop set up. The wifi tether also gave me problems when framework was downloaded. THough it did show signal going through I could not get web pages to open, even with the suggested set up from DAWITHERS. So I don't know.

ANy ideas on how to resolve these issues? I can take out framework, but I don't know if thats the problem since I went back to the Freedompop set up and still had the same problem with the wifi, connected, recognized, signal up, but no web page connection.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I just downloaded and installed the BlueKingdom1.4-NoLockRing.zip last night but I'm having the same problem as this previous post where the Caller ID doesn't show on the lock screen. However in addition when I go into Settings there isn't a Call option for me to change the Phone Settings.

There's under the Device heading options for Sound, Display, Storage, Battery and Apps.
When I did the install using CWM, I did the factory wipe and cache wipe too. Also did a reinstall of the BlueKingdom1.4-NoLockRing.zip over the existing Bluekingdom just to see if the Call setting would show up.

Suggestions? What'd I do wrong?
Thanks

HELLO

Could it be that you just need to check the box to select show caller ID on lock screen and status bar?

You can find it by going to:

Settings > Call > Phone Settings > select show caller ID on lock screen and status bar.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.
