What is the screen protector like? Does it chnge the characteristics of the screen? Does it make the screen response to touch any different. Does it make the screen look not as bright or as clear?

I generally don't like screen protectors (or cases for that matter) and I get pretty crazy good battery life, but for some situations this is a tempting solution for not having to worry about how soon I can top off. The price is pretty reasonable.

The screen protector is not great, it definitely dulls the screen a bit. I may pop it out eventually. Sensitivity is ok but sometimes it gets in the way of pulling down your notification bar.

Can anyone confirm that this will work with my N5? I'd love chromecast but no Australian release at this stage :(

Mainly looking for something to throw content (i.e. YouTube etc.) to the TV from the phone.

No idea if that'd work, but I do know people were buying US Chromecasts and they were working fine in the UK. Hope that helps.

Oh and I've just bought a UK chromecast, they're brilliant! Would recommend to anyone, so handy to have

Yeah, I know what you mean. I went with the "HD" one which is much better than the ones I've used from them in the past in that regard.

LG Nexus 5 Screen Protector | ZAGG

Went onto the product page - 1.7 stars. I'm really liking the sound of the Anker tempered glass one, but I'm on the fence as to whether I "need" one. Also wondering about how a case (I take mine off pretty frequently) would affect it.

Seeing as my naked 2 week old N5 hasn't even left the house yet, I might have to bite and get a case and protector very soon :p

I've never used a wireless charger before, and picked up the Choe Upgraded Qi Wireless Charger Charging Pad when I acquired my Nexus 5. Setup has been incredibly easy, literally just plug-in the USB charging cable to the pad, and the charger works as described, as long as your phone is positioned vertically or horizontally along the pad. wide area charging area, compared with normal wireless charger's small area for this new model, just put the phone on the pad and it will charge

This is a superb buy if you're a brand new Nexus 5 owner and you wish to experience the near future that is wireless charging. Check out on Amazon Store by the brand name on "CHOETECH"

I love the official Bumper cases from Google Play....a little pricey yes, but the protection is awesome and I just like the tightness around the device

2nd runner up would be the TPU diztronic case. However limited in colors, but still a very good case if your into bland colors.

I'm bouncing back and fourth between the Red and Gray Bumpers...love them

Hi there

I'm ordering a Nexus 5 soon and was hoping for some recommendations on covers or bumper cases.

I've seen some cool Spigen and Cruzerlite covers on Amazon so any tips are welcome.

Rob

I bought the genuine bumper case off the Play Store (why are their accessories sooo expensive!?) but didn't like it. It adds too much bulk to the phone, makes it very square to hold, but that's what full bumper cases do I guess  The buttons weren't very responsive for me either :(

I'm now using the Spigen SPG ultra fit premium, not as protective as the bumper cases but doesn't change the shape of the phone, no button protection.
I've been impressed with the Spigen cases and screen protectors so far, might try the slim armour, as the guys on here are saying the buttons are really responsive :)

I have a Seidio kickstand case for my RAZR Maxx and love it so I will be ordering another case just like it for my N5. No screen protector for me because of the Gorilla Glass and the fact that I am pretty gentile on my phones. :) Has anyone had problems with scratches on the camera lens or it cracking? I've read a few posts elsewhere across the web about that problem.

Phone fell a couple feet onto my bathroom scales.

Spigen ultra slim seemed to come out unscathed but under further inspection there's a tiny bit of damage on one corner.

Took of the case and I was horrified by the damage to all the corner :( so I'm not sure if i should probably start using the neo hybrid instead of the ultra slim, or if I was just unluckly/stupid

I might need an RMA soon anyway so it's all good :D

Edit: are there any alternatives to the Spigen slim that are light, but will protect the phone?

edit 2 : Cheap ebay TPU case vs Cruzerlight bugdroid vs Caseology vs Neo Hybrid?

I know most don't want to spend much for a screen protector but I got the martin fields overlay yesterday and it is so nice and smooth. I have it on my gnex also so I knew I'd like it.

I also have a Ringke Fusion case sitting here but I'm waiting on a skin before I put it on. My phone isn't even activated yet so I don't carry it around yet.

Since I activated my phone I went ahead and put the case on since I might be taking it places. The case fits great! The buttons work great too. I never had a case that actually covered the existing buttons. I'm not sure about the rubbery bumper. It seems like it might get grimy but we'll see. I probably should have bought a black one but I bought the aqua blue.
