Root [Virgin Mobile] [ROM][4.4.2]CyanogenMod 11[02/14][d2vmu]

I'm on cm-11-20140210-SNAPSHOT-M3-d2vmu and all of a sudden, my MMS quit working. That is to say, I can send SMS and send MMS, but I cannot receive MMS.

I have tried Hangouts, stock messaging app and 8sms. The last two used to receive them, now they don't.

I've tried flashing the APN fix and the latest D2LTE nightly + APN fix.... but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me?

EDIT - I should note that my data works perfectly... both 3g and LTE.

It is well known that the stock messaging app isn't supposed to work with CM11. Mine is working fine. I send and receive MMS just fine with the stock messaging app. I also flashed the universal APN fix and the virgin mobile APN fix, they both show in the apn's on my phone. I also updated my prl to the newest and latest from sprint. You can find the new Prl in the boost mobile all things root thread if your interested. Not sure what else to tell ya man but to keep playing with it some more lol. It took me several flashes until my MMS just started working with stock messaging. I'm still a happy camper running the CM11 nightly 3/17 with stock messaging working perfectly. Good luck!

My stock MMS app is now working also. I don't know if it's the new unified d2lte ROM or the previously applied APN fixes, but it works fine.

ps- I've also got 3rd party messaging apps working with these settings:

MMSC: http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?type=null
MMS Proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS Port: 80

Hope this helps!

What's the proxy do exactly?

I just flashed 03/27/14 and it seems fine so far. The only problem is camera, it always force closes and says can't connect to camera. For some reason camera only works on 03/10/14 for me.

Nevermimd, I flashed the 03/27 again and flashed with gapps and I force stopped the camera app and cleared data. It works now, I'll try to use it more tomorrow and hopefully it doesn't crash like it does sometimes.

If possible I think I need some help from someone with some more knowledge than I. I have a little but that is about it. I have a galaxy s3, Boost Mobile.
SPH-L710
MK5
Root Only, stock rom
PhilZ Touch 6.19.2
Clockworkmod v6.0.4.7

Ok I did a backup, then wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache/wipe dalvic.
I flashed,
cm-11 -20140326-NIGHTLY-d2lte new.zip
gapps-kk-20231208 new.zip

Ok seemed fine, thought I was good, I then started to notice I had little to no service, and when I noticed after I left home were I use wifi that I had no data at all. Looked around for some fixes then end up overwhelmed with all the different things it could be. Then last night after taking some pic, and video's my camera started bugging then went pink. I still have the images. Figured id just restore and seek some help if its out there.

You need an APN fix for boost mobile for data. Go to settings then apps, look for camera and try to clear the data. Hope I could help.

Haven't had time to post this but sometimes my phone completely freezes and goes black. It shuts off and when I turn it back on (I have dkp kernel installed) it stays at the dkp boot picture thing. I usually turn it off and boot into recovery and wipe the cache and dalvik cache and it fixes it but on startup it always says android is upgrading. It's kind of annoying. Anyone know why or if there's a fix for it? I'm on 03/28/14 update but it's happened with all the other ones.

Instead of wiping, pull the battery, hold the power button for a little, replace battery, boot. It still is less than ideal, but it will save you some time.

Are you over clocking and/or undervolting?

I'm using the freeleunch governor on dkp, maybe that's the problem?
I'll try that next time it happens.

Definitely experiment with governors and schedulers to find an stable combo. Avoid over clocking and undervolting until you've had a stable day or two. Different speeds and voltages may work or not work with different phones.

Excellent advice! ;)

I'm still running CM nightly 2/14 with everything working. This is my daily right now and loving it. The only downfall is that I'm running I/O on zen and interactive governor with dkp and my battery has been draining quicker than before. Gotta try some other settings. Anybody have any suggestions.

That's one thing that is going to vary from phone to phone. I'm running Liquidsmooth with DKP and running Westwood for congestion control, row for i/o, and freelunch as my gov. I'm still playing with my settings too. One of the best gifts anyone has given me is this 7000mAh Zerolemon battery. I'm not worried about battery life that much. I do keep it in mind though. That's the reason I don't run the performance gov all the time I usually switch back and forth between freelunch and interactive.

To be honest, I have just recently started testing out the congestion control.

For CM11, try deadline and freelunch. See if that helps any. You can also use ondemand. I can't tell that much of a difference when I run it. Another thing you can do is drop your min down to 21600. That'll help too.

One more thing that I almost forgot. Make sure you don't have Facebook, Amazon, or any apps like that which run in the background all the time. Make sure gps, and data are off when not in use too.

The settings I have mentioned are things that have worked for me in the past when I've tested them. One of the very 1st things I learned about these Android devices is that each of them are unique. What works perfectly for one phone may work terribly on another. When it comes to the kernel settings, test as many combinations as you can. Make sure you give the settings time to settle in too. When trying a new set up, I'll usually go in and wipe my cache and Dalvik cache after making the changes. I've made changes before and the phone would lag some. I wiped the cache and Dalvik caches, rebooted and those same settings ran great.

I don't know if this has helped you any. Hopefully there's some information in there that you will find useful.

I wish you luck on looking for that perfect combination. :D
