Because rooting only makes it compatible as far as apps that need root privilege to operate. If the app isn't written for your hardware, or for your version of Android, or both, it's still not compatible with your phone.
An app written to need root and a minimum 5" screen won't work on a rooted phone with a 4" screen or a non-rooted phone with a 5" screen. It has to be compatible in ALL respects to be compatible.
I'd check if it installs on the stock ROM- know anybody else w/ the Ace that you can ask? If it doesn't install on the stock OS the Ace ships with, it might not be possible. I know that some apps back inthe day, in the 4.0-4.2 shift, weren't "compatible" with m yAcer a500, but the update to CM10.1 allowed me to install them again.
What country are you in? Because sometimes apps will show as incompatible in certain countries. However the Ace is quite a low-specced basic phone these days, and so may well be incompatible with recent and more demanding apps.
