PhotoSphere - take huge 3D panoramas ..

Photosphere is excellent man :)
I have a flashable zip of a photosphere camera (think its the nexus5 camera) on my s3 but its for 4.4.
I had a different one (probably the nexus4 camera) on 4.3.
I think(?) photosphere was launched with 4.3 so if thats the case youll need at least a 4.3 rom
P.s, i think samsung made their own version of the feature but i dont know what it requires etc

They are a lot of fun to be something you made. Not so fun to be in the process of making. You want to stand still in a static environment for about 2 minutes with no one near you etc.

Really hard to explain to people also. Everyone just keeps thinking you are talking about a panoramic.

They come stock on Nexus devices and I think on GP Editions. I know apk's are out there for sideloading

4.1 then mate? ;)
Id have a look around for a zip or apk OP. not sure if it will need an aosp rom to work.
Make a nandroid backup before trying anything like that though

I think it was the 4.2 release. Maybe it was 4.1

There's a g+ group for photo spheres I am a part of. People in there talk about creating photo spheres with their DSLRs. So, I think there may be a way to have many devices creating photo spheres.

Mate if you can get me the .apk that would be so sweet
There's more to it than just sideloading an apk. You need to add the KitKat 4.4 Camera as a system app with libraries (note that this adds, not replaces the 4.3 Camera).
1. Move GoogleCamera.apk to /system/app and chmod 644
2. Move three library files (libjni_mosaic.so, libjni_filtershow_filters.so, liblightcycle.so) to /system/lib & chmod 644
3. Reboot (you should see "Android updating" message as dalvik-cache gets created for new Cameraapp)
Also see [APPS/LIBS/FONTS/WALLPAPERS][FAQ]4.4 KitKat Apps (Google Nexus 5) - xda-developers and Kitkat Gallery and Camera (Android 4.4) - xda-developers to obtain the files (both threads have essentially the same info, but different file versions - use whichever works best for you).

I keep both cameras installed on my S4. The KitKat photosphere function is awesome, but the regular pre-installed camera has all the special effects.

The community is called Photo Sphere Community. Do a search for it in the google+ app. I dont know how to link a community

Cool thing about this group is there are Google employees that work on Photo Sphere in it. Every now and then they will drop in a provide some valuable insight or reactions.
