Just ordered mine too, day off on Friday, so Prime shipping works out perfectly! Can't wait to hook it up, my Roku is pretty old in "technology years."

It will replace my blu-ray player that has netflix and Amazon Prime on it.
The UI on the blu-ray for Amazon and Netflix is horrid so this is a much welcomed replacement.

I just ordered one also. I have a sony blu ray dvd player that I've been using for Amazon Instant video. I was using roku, but it would lock up about half way through a movie. No problem with the sony though. I also bought a chromecast that I've never used. Now I see that it doesn't have Amazon Instant Video. I knew that when I bought it but had heard that it would be added. I bought the fire tv for the Amazon instant video and we have prime. I'm also interested in the games. I currently have an ATT netgear modem/router combo. Will I have to change to a dual band? I guess I can try first. Sadly, ATT is the only isp available unless I go with Dish or Charter cable which are expensive here.

Arrived about an hour ago, setup was easy, just plug and play. Watching some Netflix right now. Obviously the little time I have had it isn't enough to have a fully formed opinion yet, but I will say this: looks like the voice feature is a winner. I have a very deep voice, and Google voice applications can never seem to get what I am saying, rendering things like using voice to compose an SMS impossible. Extremely frustrating whenever I have tried to use any voice type application. On the Fire TV, zero problems so far! Will post again once I have used this a bit more.

Got ours going last night. It took about 20 minutes for the upgrade to download. This was do to our lousy ATT DSL speed. With it, I can't even use a dual band router. This is a factor in living in a small town. The UI in Fire tv is way better than my sony blu ray. It was pretty easy to set up, too. I'm going to try a movie tonight to see how that works. I'm an Amazon prime member.
Update: Worked great last night watching an episode of Ancient Aliens. Sure is easy to add to the watchlist. I tried the Cloud today and uploaded a photo using the pc. It showed up on the Fire tv with no problems. Looking forward to playing music from the cloud, too.

Update 2: I'm confident that a lot more apps will be added to Fire TV. However, I just added Pandora and really like it on the Fire TV. It was very easy to add. So far no buffering issues and I really like the quick response. Much better than what I have used in the past so to me the $100 is worth it.

i just ordered mine today, august 16,2015. very anxious to get it. recently upgraded from dsl to cable internet. hoping for the best. i will post once i get my fire tv set up and streaming
