Hi there,

Recently I have charged my phone into lorry (V24) and then some day my phone stopped charging correctly. Now I cannot turn on phone at all as the last message I saw was "your phone is using more current than the charger is able to deliver.' What that supposed to mean ?

I have tried different chargers, I even bought a brand new battery and cover.. but that didn't work either.

I have had similar issue a half year ago it was a red triangle (locked or something) I managed to get off that triangle and my phone started charging again without any problem. But this time I don't have anything..

What could be problem ? How to sort it out ?

Regards

What do you mean by external charger?

It doesn't power on at all, well when I have inserted a brand new battery phone showed that it charges... but after couple min, battery started drain... until phone were off.
i mean something like this:
Amazon.com: RAVPower KnightRider 14000mAh External Battery Charger Portable Power Bank Pack for iPhone 5 (Lightning Cable not included), 4S, 4, iPad 4, 3, 2, Mini, iPods; Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, S2, Note 2; HTC One, EVO, Thunderbolt, Incredible, Droid

either your charging cord is bad or the charging port on the phone is bad. you could also try cleaning the metal contacts where the phone and battery meet.

But if that would be the charging port problem then it wouldn't charge at all.
How can I check what is the problem, I got multimeter.

Charging slowly can still be a charging port problem if one of the pins is broken. You would need to hook the multimeter up to the pins that are where the battery is located.

But the other problem could be that the battery is not making good contact with the contacts in the battery compartment.

Well I have checked the compartment and for me it seems all right, perhaps I can use some liquid (alcohol one) to clean the contacts ?

Shall I try this step - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDtv7qKf8tQ starting from 5:30 ? Then I can be sure if the phone charges up without any errors then it's 100% port problem.

if you tried a new charging cable and a new battery and cleaned the contacts, that basically guarantees it is a port problem.

performing the steps in that video could easily fry your phone if you aren't careful. Even if it works, the problem could still be with the charging cable OR the port. Being that you've tried other charging cables and batteries (hopefully good quality cords that are verified working on another phone), the problem would have to be the port.

As I live in UK I have found this - USB Power Charger Dock Connector Port Flex Cable Ribbon For HTC Incredible S G11 | eBay

as the cheapest one, will that would be fine? Have you ever tried to change port is it complicated ?

also if that's a port problem I can't see nothing wrong from outside, or it's broken inside?

I've never taken your phone apart but this is a useful video

You can use a plastic knife as a pry tool.

A pin inside the port could be bent or not making complete contact with the charger... it is hard to say..charging ports/cords just seem to wear out over time.

I'd reccomend to get a fully charged battery and put it in the phone and turn it on, just to make sure you don't have any other problems with the phone before you start taking it apart. I've seen battery problems, lead to corruption of the phones memory, making the phone unbootable/unfixable.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have external charger for battery, but I used my old USB cable and present charger. I have cut the USB cable so then I have two parts of cable one is '+' and second '-". Then I have charged my new and present battery for 30 min then I had about 80% full of charge.. the phone worked.. I did turn on etc. but then when I plugged in, phone showed (and red light on top of the phone) that it's charging.. so I felt happy
but then suddenly phone showed that the battery drained from 80% to 50% also it showed that mobile phone is using more than it's charging.. and after couple min phone just turned off as the battery had 0%...

did the battery start draining rapidly while the charger was still plugged in?

how did the battery behave without the charger plugged in?

you could have something wrong internally to the phone causing a rapid power drain... did the phone become hot?
