Download and install official LG Mobile Support Tool from LG Site
http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe

Upgrade Recovery Method 1

1. Open your LG Mobile Support Tool
2. Connect phone to PC with USB Cable
3. Let the Support Tool discover your device
4. Let it connect to your device
5. Up top where it says "Options" click this and then click Upgrade Recovery
6. If it asks for it Input your IMEI from your phone or box into the S/N box and then click "check"

A box will pop up confirming your info. If all goes well a new window will pop up about downloading software. The file is about 800MB. Let it run it's course and you should be back up and running. This method recovers not just your firmware but also restores and leaves everything else in tact, however it will UnRoot your phone regardless of what was recovered.

Unbricking/Unrooting Method 2 (Alternative Method for Rooted Phones) If above option doesn't work.

1. Open your LG Mobile Support Tool
2. Open Root Explorer or another browser granted with SuperUser access
3. Go into System/ directory and mount it as R/W
4. Delete the build.prop file
5. Restart phone and wait for it to go to the black screen after LG logo
6. Leave the phone powered on and hook it to your PC via USB Cable
7. Let it discover your device
8. Let it connect to your device

It will search for an update and tell you it has found the "I" firmware.

9. Click Upgrade and let it do its thing.

If all goes well a new window will pop up about downloading software. The file is about 800MB. Let it run it's course and you should be back up and running with a factory fresh phone.

So I am putting this out to the F6 world, maybe this lil saving grace will help you feel a lil more comfortable in modding or playing with your phone, maybe even rooting it and getting your hands dirty.

I came across these today after posting these methods I discovered. For those who use recovery to flash your roms.

thank you thank you so very much You don't know what I went through for this info. Now one last question how do I root it the right way so I can get the sufficient memory I have a 32gb micro SD card. how do I root the correct way and change the external SD to the internal for more memory. Without it saying insufficient storage when I download anything and updates. thank you once again in getting back with me.

I suggest using Trevor's method for Root, so far it has worked perfectly everytime and I have no long term issues of any kind using it. As far as leaving the SD Card in you should be fine. Only time I have taken it out is to partition it to use with Link2SD, which goes nicely with the App2External_SD method.

This is the Storage Swap method I have used as well.

Hello,

I have a brick after updating to the latest OTA update and the LG Support program does not recognize the phone even after installing the drivers.

I can load into recovery but all options reboot the phone back into recovery.

After entering serial numbers the program says that the phone was disconnected and does not complete the process.

Please help if you have advice and suggestions.

You can Emode unbrick

take the batery out and re put back in with phone off and hold volume up and connect usb cord and wait for emode and yes if promts and then do the following files for your phone

http://androidforums.com/metropcs-o...nbrick-kdz-metropcs-updated-11-13-2013-a.html

use this link its direct link for nesseary files

http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...18f7/525a1816/1/6/2/1/5/3/1/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip

extract the zip and right click on uptextmod2 and properties and compabability with windows xp s3

ok go back and right click the file and run as administrator

use the kdz file link
Free File Sharing and Storage made Simple. this one may be direct download not sure

once the app is open look for phone mode and applied emergency and look for the kdz file you downloaded and extracted anywhere and apply the kdz file hit start upgrade and just wait for the reboot and your phone is alive again hope this works

okay, im on 12b, im trying to get root. ive tried the Trevor & GameTheory methods and i just cannot figure this out. i am by no means an Android expert but a have successfully rooted multiple phones (including my wifes f6 but that is still on 10i). i am wondering if anyone can do a guide (or link me to one) for going back to 10i with the kdz method or any method for that matter. i have tried looking everywhere before asking this (im not trying to waste anybodys time by requesting duplicated info) but the only guides i can find are for older LG's (optimus 2x etc.)

any help will be greatly appreciated

You can try me metho on top and just update the phone once threw the ota and just rooted after updated and back on firmware i

ok everytime i do this the screen goes all black with a small box in the center that
reads "DOWNLOAD MODE DO NOT UNPLUG the device untill the process is complete"
so what am i missing?? ive put the KDZ file on my sdcard

No in markupextest its says on the right section kdz file and hit the file you downloaded and then hit normal upgrade and it may take 10 mins but its just resets the phone with everything original and nothing gets lost all the way to e firmware
