I want to get rid of the "My magazine" feature, but when I shut it off, it loses a panel and now I have only four. I want to use that panel for something else. Suggestions? (other than an entire new launcher.)

Just drag a new icon to a new screen. 
or Long press any blank spot, swipe over and hit the + to add a new panel. You can have 7 till you need to switch to a custom launcher...

You can add multiple new screens. Just hold down on the homescreen and then swipe all the way to the right and tap the plus sign.

How do you get it to be circular like my S3 was? I don't want to stop at one end and have to go all the way back. It should be continuous scrolling...
Edit: found it. Disable Magazine in the Homescreen menu.

Press on the screen like you are going to add a widget, but at the bottom it says home screen settings. You can turn off My Magazine there.

While you're in the home screen settings, each screen has a "home" icon at the top but only one is highlighted. Go to the screen you want as home and tap the "home" icon.

Also if you can pick up any of the panels and move them, and all of the icons on them, to any point in the set; and it will keep the "home" quality if you move the home panel.
