How to prevent triggering same command in a pre defined time frame

I have tasker set up with my WeMo light switches and IFTTT, when I get home it connects to my WiFi > sends a SMS to IFTTT and turns on my WeMo lights.

But lately, every few days I find that my lights are on when I wake up in the morning, looking at my phone shows that I was disconnected from WiFi, then reconnected back (and triggering tasker to turning on the lights, and stays on till I wake up). *probably something I should look into why my router/wifi is reconnecting me.. when I have time I will*

But my questions is how do I prevent this from happening, can I enter a pre-defined time frame for tasker not to trigger this action?

Thanks in advance.

If you long press your profile, at the top of the screen a few buttons will pop up. Click the settings one, and in there set a "cool down time". This makes the profile wait before being able to be triggered again

Thanks for the info... this is ideal to set it so It won't be triggered again within a period of time. But my question is, since on this profile I have a "Enter" and "Exit" tasks.. does the cool down time apply to both or seperate?

> meaning... if I set the profile cool down time to 3hours
> when I get home say at 7pm, "enter" task will be triggered (lights on)
> then if I leave the house at 9pm, will it trigger my "exit" (lights off) task?? (since it's still within a 3hour period.. will it trigger this profile again?)

Your profile won't do anything for the cooldown time, so if you want it to fire the exit before the cooldown time, make 3 profiles, one that calls a turn on profile with a cooldown time as an entry and an exit that calls a turn off profile without a cooldown time. The lights won't turn on again for the cooldown time, but they'll turn off any time. (If that's what you're getting at.)

Write the "program" (what happens when, due to what, including all possibilities) before you start writing anything in Tasker. That way you'll know what you want to do before you start doing it. Debugging English on paper is easier than debugging Tasker tasks.
