Root [Virgin Mobile] Can't turn phone into wifi hotspot after rooting

I was able to wirelessly tether internet to another device before rooting. Now I can't and any tethering app I try to download the phone keeps saying there's insufficient memory (even for TrevE mod). But any other app it will download it fine.

The phone is rooted but I kept the stock rom and I will not get a custom one.

Strange thing, when I try to turn on the hotspot button from the power controls widget, it says "tethering not supported". I'm still puzzled why I was able to do it twice before (and before rooting).

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks!

I doubt you were able to do it prior to rooting (if you're on virgin victory) since virgin removes this feature completely. If you were somehow able to tether, simply rooting would not stop it. But Treve mod should work fine. Try going into twrp and wiping cache and dalvik cache, then try installing Trev e mod. Are you using link2sd? If yes Try cleaning up the 2nd partition in link2sd settings.

SDK? You mean apk? How much internal memory do you have left? If memory is low try clearing some internal memory. Just curious if you tethered before root what was the name of the ssid that it generated?, because that's interesting ( meaning what was the name of the network it created that you tethered to), and did it require a password to connect to it? If you were able to tether before, there is nothing that just rooting would change. But if its saying memory low try clearing some junk out of your rom or data/media. Check your app data and see which one (or ones) are using up all of your system rom memory.
