Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] {Guide} Tethering... on MPCS & TMO F3

hey i was wondering if there is a way to have it work on a ps4-ps3. i recently got it working for my pc thanks to your guide. Is it possible? i have lg f3 metro.

As it appears, I have successfully connected my PS4 onto my phone with no trouble. All you have to do is accept it on the Access Control log. Hope that helps! I'm not too sure about the PS3, but I think they use the same protocol.

Anyway that the WiFi app doesn't take ages to accept a device. I know on the computer it's take a very long time for it to connect is there a way to speed it up for the ps4? Cause after 15 seconds it says it did not connect in time. I've done everything it says here and still doesn't connect. help would be very appreciated

The fastest way is by using Android Tuner n on the task tap / click on kernel botton (bottom right penguin ) look for system/bin/hostapd file .... click on it n kill it

I found a way to get past that.

You need to use a vpn on your phone and it will bypass the metropcs block page.

I think most of the vpns in the Google Play store should work.

Ok i went ahead and did the other steps i got vpn unlimited from google play but the tethering only works good on my other android phones i still cant use it on my ps3 or laptop, they connect just fine to wifi just cant go online, any suggestions on a new vpn app or other setting changes i should use??

Surfeasy vpn seems to work for me.

When I connect my laptop to my phone that is running the vpn, I can browse websites on my laptop as I would normally. However, I don't know if that will work on a ps3 sorry. I don't have a ps3.

What I did was basically:

1. FIRST Start the (surfeasy) vpn.
- This is a running app on my phone.

2. Start the wifi tether.
-Wifi encryption is off because it doesnt work.

3. Go to Android Tuner and use the task manager to kill the "system/bin/hostapd" process.

4. Connect my Laptop to my phone's wifi.

5. Go back to the wifi tether app on my phone and go into the "access control" panel.

6. Check my laptop on the list of authorized devices and press apply.

Basically, that's how I set up my tethering.

I had to fiddle around with my settings when i first set up the tethering, but my tether settings are:

-Device Profile: Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
-Setup Method: Auto
-Send Netd Max Client Cmd: CHECKED
-Enable Wifi-Encryption: NOT CHECKED
-Wireless Frequency Channel: 10 (I dont think the channel choice matters though)
-Mac Address Spoof: NOT CHECKED
-Don't Disable Bluetooth: NOT CHECKED
-I use Wifi-driver reload 2
-Enable Access Control: CHECKED
-Keep Alive- Connection... : NOT CHECKED
-Shutdown Timer: NOT CHECKED
-Idle Shutdown: NOT CHECKED
-Quota Shutdown Limit: NOT CHECKED
-Change LAN: 172.20.22.0/24
-MSS Clamping & Routing fix: BOTH CHECKED
-Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
-Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4
-Client Notification: All Clients
- Vibrate On Connect: CHECKED
-Disable Update-Check: NOT CHECKED
-Disable Wake-Lock: CHECKED
-Battery Temperature: Celsius (This option doesnt matter.)

ALSO, This setup didn't work for me at the beginning because I kept getting an AP MaxClient failure or something like that.

However, I managed to fix that by going into SuperSU and revoking the superuser access for Wifi Tether.

After doing that, I ran Wifi Tether again and regranted superuser access and it all worked.

Found the way. Like one of us said use a VPN. I used one called Reindeer. It says it is free for 2 days and with the two days I've used it spectacular. I will buy it. I am able to use the ps4 laptop and other android phones can connect to it as well. You gotta first then on the reindeer VPN, then the WiFi Tether after that you need to have android tuner then go to task manager and kill hostapd. Once you do that all the products will connect fast and no problems will occur. Played Fifa and need for speed online and downloaded 4 games of the store with size ranting 1-5 gigs.

Just to let everyone know...

If you use a VPN service on your home computer while connected via the tether, you do not have to change your user agent. This helps out with applications that have a web browser component to them but no ability to change the user agent "I.E. Steam, and the Launcher for Star Trek Online".

I have even been able to game on the VPN connection via the LTE tether as well. The VPN service I am using is from Private Internet Access. Shockingly my pings in online games have been at times better then people with real internet such as landline internet connections.
