Do I need to do a full unroot with supersu after creating back up with voodoo?

I flashed MS65910c_00.kdz by accident, which is why it failed I assume. It's werid cuz the phone comes on but not the screen. I don't get it. I tried it over and over hoping my phone is in DL mode and I just can't see it, but KDZ keeps giving me the device not found error.

So funny story. My dumba$$ did the same thing. I got this phone today as an upgrade through assurion since my connect was failing but then flashed the F3 firmware on it instead because I rushed the update and didn't read the instructions properly. I played dumb and have a new one coming but then I started playing with it and was able to fix it.

So I forgot what button combo it was, either home and quick memo or just quick memo. Then plug in USB. The screen will backlight black with nothing on it but if you go through the KDZ update you can load the correct firmware back on. You'll know it's working if KDZ starts counting, if it says phone not found try the other button combo. After KDZ did it's thing I'm back up and running. Assurions gonna be surprised to get a perfectly working phone back. lol.

On my way to work this morning, phone froze. pulled battery. will not power on. no factory reset, no d/l mode nothing..... but a quick flash of the home led when plugging in without the battery in. (HARDBRICKED AGAIN!)

If all else fails use kdz to get to 10i or lg support tool upgrade recovery in download mode.if ypu use the second though i recommend following after with the first once its fixed then follow the root guides to get 12b rooted.if you want the method that worked for me after you fix it that includes sdhacks and the debloater i did post a guide that works as long as you do the methods in order from 10i wish you luck froggy.all we need now is playfulgod to hopefully come through with a custom rom now ;crosses fingers;

Gave up on this phone. This is the third one that did this too me. Cant get any tools to recognize it. Only qpst. And cant accomplish anything with that.Went to T-Mobile and got me a N5. This phone is VERY unlock/root friendly! Unlike the f6.

I have LTE2 recovery installed. If I run OTA rootkeeper, will OTA update work? or do I need to uninstall it?

Settings>About Phone>Software Information, (MS50012B = 12B) if you are on I stay there and reach back to me for easy root

3. Install and run Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper from Play Store. Make a backup using app .
4. Install OTA update (it might take forever for it to popup).
5. Run OTA Rootkeeper and restore su backup. Reboot

I was reading through the first post in this thread. This is missing Step 1,2?

EDIT: A side issue. I installed a 32gig SD Card. I was looking for a setting that would tell the phone to install apps there as default [when possible].

EDIT2: Kingo? Do we have a Stepwise method somewhere? For my last phone, there was a general purpose root -http://androidforums.com/premia-4g-all-things-root/710664-oudhs-guide-rooting-your-premia-4g.html Of course, I have no idea if it would work on this phone?

My dumb a** updated to 12b on metro, I have followed the 10i instructions carefully, and nothing seems to work I too also get the weird error messages like JMO33. now I got the little screen which is the download mode and cannot seem to get out of that because my phone wont boot into home screen. what can I do to go back to normal anyone?

Because you root 10i and then rootkeeper to keep your root to 12b because atm there is no one click root for 12b

Try kdz again I've had to do it a couple times for it to stick it sounds like it isn't sticking for you make sure your using the correct kdz as well

There seems to be conflicting reports. Is this thread indicating the use of SafeRoot to get root, and I am just misunderstanding?

[I got the idea from http://androidforums.com/premia-4g-all-things-root/710664-oudhs-guide-rooting-your-premia-4g.html which worked for my last phone. But, again, conflicting reports at to whether this would work for this phone?]

successfully. [sigh] "Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> MS50010i"

Root successful! Root Checker Pro reports root and busybox R good!

EDIT: After a successful root, what happens to root if I let the phone update system to "MS50012B"?

Here is a short cut for people who can't get it. Just flash this system dump (untouched) from CWM from any other version, and you should be on a rooted 12B.

People seem to have problems rooting with kingo and they just gave up on that method
