Help Notifications while using bluetooth headset

I've seen a few posts about this, but so far not any really good responses.

I have a Moto X, using a Blue Parrot headset which I use pretty much all day long. On my LG Phoenix, email and text notifications gave two audible beeps if they came in while I was on a call, alerting me to check them.

Now, though, although I love every other thing about the Moto X, that's the one drawback that is making me crazy. If I'm on the phone using my bluetooth headset, I get no audible notification of when a text or an email comes in.

Any workaround for this?

Same similar problem here. My bluetooth device can play audio from the phone or it's own built in FM radio. I work in a noisy environment and I listen to the radio all day on my bt device, and I also need to hear my notifications.

This same bt device (sony mw600) worked perfectly on my old phone razr maxx hd. With the Moto X, I am not hearing notifications when listening to FM radio. Although it does work if I am listening to phone media.

Also tried Tasker by setting it up to play a ringtone whenever I receive a notification of any kind. You might want to try this too, but it did not solve my problem.

I have also tried factory reset.

I had read about tasker but wasn't sure if it would work or not. I downloaded the trial version last night and messed with it forever, and finally found the right combo that would push notifications to my bluetooth headset.

I hope I remember all the steps.

Make sure you're on the profile section, hit +, choose event, select phone, select received text.

When it comes up to event edit, just leave it alone, and back out of it.

Then it comes to the task, choose sound effects on, choose a beep (or whatever you want).

Then go back to main profile screen and hold down your finger on received text any profile, and choose state, bluetooth connected.

I think I covered it all, that's what worked for me, and I am now receiving the normal two-beep notification from text messages coming through on bt headset while I'm in a call.

Are you getting notifications even while you are talking? If so can you post what you did to fix it?

Okay, I got it working again and found the guide I had used to make it work. Here's what I used:

1. choose new profile (name)

2 a (for ALL notifications) choose >event UI > notification ((this will require you set permission in the settings for tasker (it will show you the option))
2b (for only text message) choose phone > received text
*only choose a OR b

3.choose new task media > Music play
4. search with the magnifying glass to find the file you want to play
5. now go back to the profile and click add
6. State > blutooth connected. (you can choose the BT device of your choice or leave it blank)

what it does-

option A plays the media file to BT when connected for ALL notifications to the phone

option B plays the media file to BT when connected and a TEXT message is recieved
happy tasking

Here's my differences to make it do the two tone beep:

When I chose the new task, instead of music play, media, I chose Alert, Beep, then set the frequency and everything else really, really low and made the bottom selection "notification." Otherwise, I used it exactly as described above. It is now working again pushing notifications to my headset. Yay!!!

Glad you got your working, thanks for the help. Looks like it just wont work for my purpose. I noticed that when I'm in FM mode, the bluetooth settings on the phone says No Media and that is the problem. At least I can hear when someone is calling, my device plays it's own ringer sound.

It is disappointing to me because my old phone would play notifications no matter what I was listening to.
