Advanced cwm very cuztimizable.

All I did was compile this for fx3mt.

No problem.
Save file to external_SD
In code below replace " filename" with whatever you named your file
In adb shell or terminal emulator:
su
dd if=/storage/external_SD/"filename".lok of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

Should be just like PG's cwm recovery. Hold vol+ and power when booting up. Or you can reboot via PG's rebooter app or via command line from either the phone or adb.

Note: If this behaves like PG's cwm recovery, booting into recovery via button combo will wipe data. So I would recommend booting into recovery by the other ways I mentioned.

I used Pg rebooter app. Choose reboot to recovery. And walah. Backing up seems to have work, it froze for a bit then continued.

So I tried flashing a zip. I saved the zip onto my internal sd card. I rebooted into recovery, flash zip, choose zip from internal sd card, and it only showed me the folder for clockwork mod

Did you try the new one? I added a new recovery image with a couple of updates and I think that internal sd card is one of them

I tried the recovery from the Virgin Mobile thread, but it wouldn't do a complete backup. Plus, when I went to recovery, it automatically did a factory reset. If I try the .lok file, will that override the current cwm recovery? Will it reset my phone to factory settings?

I just flashed it using the terminal emulator, but I'm nervous about going into recovery to check it out. haha I spent a long time setting up my phone and I would hate to have it set to factory settings.

I use apps to reboot recovery or adb , and I haven't had any resets. Its the button combo that resets. That is if you have metro version
