So I got an s5 on launch day and couldn't be any happier ( upgraded from the s2 skyrocket) Well had it for almost 2 days before I noticed dead pixels :( first I thought I scratched the screen but it was under the glass so took it in and att store manager confirmed it was dead pixels and they replaced it free since it was manufacture defect, just wondering if any1 else got defective units also or was I just that special ?

Unfortunately no matter what new phone you get you are going to find manufacturing defects. The same went with the HTC One M8, which have had it's share of defective phones. So far I have not seen too many reports on the S5 for defects. I am glad the manager made the swap painless. Enjoy your new phone and make sure to take some pictures and post them in the Camera review: Show us your pictures thread in this forum!

I had to return my S5 yesterday. The screen was showing what looked like a picture of the static you get on a TV when you are tuned into a station that is not broadcasting. It would show this even after pulling the battery. After a dozen or so tries I got it to boot normally and was able to use it for about an hour. Then it did this again. The next time I got it to boot I promptly did a hard reset. but it happened again 2 days later. I gave up and went back to Best Buy, and they just gave me a new phone.

Even after pulling the battery? That is some serious twilight zone/poltergeist behavior. I would suggest an exorcism...
