Root [MetroPCS] trying to get Link2SD to work

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PePryYhspdk

So I was looking at that video trying to get it to work and when I open aparted it just gets stuck on mke2fs part, what should I do?

I ran into the same problem after flashing the freedom kernel. In my case the overclock was preventing Link2SD from starting. Using Setcpu I downclocked the cpu and the app started working. Since then I've maxed the cpu speed and have not had any issues.

I still don't understand how this fixed my problem so it may not apply to your situation. It's just something I tried and it worked for me.

Good luck, Link2SD is a must have if your not using the SD card memory hack.

I have this same problem, Aparted (not link2sd) gets stuck on installing mkef2s. I wanted to use Aparted because it gives the option of formatting in ext4. The page hubsabub linked mentions mini partition tool something, but the screenshot shows it doesn't have ext4. I also tried easeus partition editor on my pc, but it doesn't do ext4 either. jramos mentioned clock speed, but he was talking about link2sd not Aparted. tried it anyways, no difference, and my wife has stock rom and kernel on her phone and gets the same problem.
So I'll chime in, does anyone know why Aparted just sits stuck on the installing mke2fs screen? Can anyone point out a good app or pc program that I can use to format as ext4? I know I could use gparted, but I don't have a spare thumb drive or cd to boot the live client

Link2SD does use the ext4 format, it's what I'm using now and it works great for me.

yes, i know it uses ext4. which is why i wanted to get aparted to work, as i explained.
thanks

*well i tried mini tool partition wizard since ygb mentioned it, and it was in hubsabubs link. those screen pics were misleading, it formats ext4 fine. Nice little tool, got my ext4 set up and left a 256 swap partition in case i feel like expirementing. It would have been nice if aparted worked and we could do it on phone, and the clockwork method did not work for me but Mini tool partition is awesome!

Is 2Gb a maximum in "Ext" file system? Or, is this just a suggestion?

You can setup the ext4 partition to whatever size you need. If you watch the video tutorial you'll see that he makes his ext4 partition 4GB in size.

Also as a reminder whenever you have a question make sure to post in the appropriate thread and if you don't find it start a new thread. The xperion thread is for the rom only.

For anyone having issues with Aparted, I updated the guide on my site with a video tutorial for Minitool to use instead of aparted.

Very easy, just read and follow along...
