Does it work well? And how exactly does it work? How customizable is it? How do you add names/contacts to it and or remove them? Does it allow only calls to ring, or texts too? Can you make it behave differently for different people? I.e. "allow calls and texts from John, only calls from Bill, and only texts from Tom"?

Any info on this would be very appreciated. Never had a phone with this feature and would love one, since I sleep at odd times yet still want to be woken/notified for certain things from certain people, etc.

Unfortunately, I'm using a custom ROM so I can't check it out. But, if others can't help you get to the solution, apps like Timerific and Tasker "should" be able to get the job done (though it'll take some work setting it up).

Thanks. At this point I'm not looking for a solution to anything, but just general knowledge on the ins and outs of this feature.

There are a few things wrong with it.
1) You can't set separate Schedules I.E. One for weekends, one for m-f
2) since kitkat update it only turns back on the initial time without a reboot.

To answer you question you can add people to it but it would only be for calls. This is not that customizable. There are apps on the playstore some require a pro version to get all features. I miss smart actions on my Bionic, it was a million times better. Although it won't work on the g2 only on moto phones.

Quiet mode works pretty good for me. I never have to worry about it not working. I use mine from 1am-7am daily. It won't make sounds for texts, or even give you the option, but it will let you pick whose calls can get through. My only gripe with it is that it doesn't turn off the notification light. But I've learned to make sure my phone is upside down before I go to bed. Lol Oh, and I only reboot my every few days at the most and it works just fine for me. YMMV though.

How exactly do you put people on the allow list, and how easy is it to change that up? (The iphone Do Not Disturb feature seems a mess in that regard imo).

Settings/Sound/

Under Sound Profile/Quite Mode

Under Quiet Mode/Allowed Calls

Under Allowed Calls/Allowed Contacts

Then select which contacts are whitelisted during your quiet mode timeframe, and you can accept calls from them.

I used to use Timeriffic but now I use Llama to manage sound profiles for days & times (as well as other things). Llama is like Tasker, but free - & much easier to use.

Cool, thanks. With iphone, it appears you you can only allow "everyone", "Favorites" or "no one", which is pretty dumb if you ask me.
