Root [MetroPCS] [GUIDE]Using KDZ to get back to MS50010i firmware

hi, I have the Metro PCS LG Optimus F6. It came with the "i" version, I rooted it without problems. Like a dummy I did the update to the 12b without unrooting it. My problem is with reverting it back to the 10i firmware. I have read and read all of the posts on here for the last week now and have tried everything that was suggested but i still can't seem to get it back to the MS50010i firmware. I tried the KDZ method with phone in download mode and my phone does nothing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have added the log of when trying to do the KDZ method if anyone can make sense of what the problem is. Thanks in advance.

I'm getting same error. Even upgrading LG United Mobile Drivers on my Windows 7 system from 3.8.1 to 3.10.1.

are you putting your phone in download mode holding only volume up on a powered up phone and plugging it in? if so i dont see why you would be getting this error as it works fine for most.little suggestion would be trying a factory reset and if you have a custom recovery use f6 utilities to revert back to stock then try again in download mode.somethings definitly hanging it up and we have to figure out what it is.that should clear it all but unsure, let us know

Hi,yep I did the factory reset, had phone in download mode, still did not work. I don't have a custom recovery to try and revert back to stock. Not to familiar with how to do that if someone could walk me through that I will try that. thanks for the response.

Your phone will actually say download mode of you're in download mode... Are you in download mode?

Yes Im in download mode, screen shows it too. The "Read phone info" also shows the SetAuthMark and GetAuthMark failure messages. I only rooted 10i, no custom recovery installed.

BTW, holding the power button for 10 seconds also turns off the phone like a battery pull, probably safer method too.

13onk, where did you upload the new kdz???

I didn't. I tested the original one posted and it worked fine.

As for kdz, read phone hasn't ever worked for me either on this device. Kdz freezes when i try it. I was hoping it would save a kdz so we could make a one step root, but i was way wrong. From the access message id bet kdz was set to the wrong phone mode or something.

Yeah I suspected as much and went straight to the launch software update, but still the same error about loading library, even tried 2 different .kdz downloads. Wish someone would provide a MD5SUM whenever posting binaries for download to double check the integrity of a file.

Source: [GUIDE] Unbrick OR Unroot LG Motion 4G [KDZ]

Thanks to: please thank sammyz and duper1 who posted the method here.
your source doesn't have a link ;) :p

Literally doesn't make a difference. Whatever floats your boat is fine though :p

It's not a corrupt file. If KDZ extracts successfully, it's not the kdz's fault.
There is a problem with one of the following:
1) You need to reboot your computer
2) Drivers didn't install correctly on the PC even though you installed it "successfully"
3) It might be that we will need to use the same method as the VM/Sprint F3's which would involve me making a new flashing method for this phone. The reason would be because the DLL supplied with the KDZ file was either not placed in it or LG broke something. I can fix that.

I have class and then a small job tonight. Will make option 3 available tomorrow.

My phone's in a case, so prefer not haveto open the back cover to do a hard reset, plus a 10-15 sec power button hold could theoretically allow any RAM data to be flushed before shutdown (but I doubt download mode has a RAM cache anyway, just thought I'd pass this info for others.

#1 was ruled since I did reboot my computer. I thought I ruled out #2 too because my computer loads the correct drivers for the F6 in various MTP/Charge Only/PTP/LG USB modes. But only today did I try it on a different Windows PC and it finally flashed the kdz.

#3 couldn't hurt to make this whole thing a little more reliable. The SetAuth errors is not exactly helpful. And the library load error didn't suggest it was a Windows Drivers issue at all.

well I don't know what else to try. I tried on my roommates computer which has Windows 7 on it. I tried a different usb cable, tried uninstalling drivers and rebooting, reinstalling drivers and restarting. downloaded the kdz and the ms50010i files numerous times and from different links and it still comes up with the same error. It's really frustrating. Is there any other way to revert it back to the "i" firmware besides using the kdz method?

I remember back a couple years ago I had issues with the kdz tool. What fixed it for me was updating the windows .net framework found here.

This may or may not be the case for you. Just throwing it out there in case you wanna try it.

There is no other way of returning to 10i firmware.

Good luck ;)
