This happens to me repeatedly.. with the volume control fixer app already applied.
It displays the volume warning, turns off my music app [I've tried 4 different ones, it happens on all], and disconnects the headphone.. then detects the headphones again because they're still plugged in.
Luckily, through the app, I defined the act of detecting headphones to be paired with turning the volume to max.
But, my music app is now turned off.
Diabolically, Google doesn't just check the sound and go away.. sometimes, the next check is 15 seconds later, moments after I press play on the now-paused music app.
Over the last 2 months, many times my subway ride to&from work has been fighting the music app.
All to play podcasts.. I don't listen to music.
The issue with podcasts is that they're recorded at a lower volume than music.. thus, any assertions about this feature being "useful" are 100% wrong.
And, this isn't a legal issue.. if it was, Sony would have been sued into oblivion for the Walkman, and yet Sony paid out zero dollars.
It's simply bad coding by Google.. they're not checking the absolute volume of the signal, they're just checking the position of the volume rocker switch.
And there's no excuse for turning off my app.

As well, 100% of the time: Whenever I put the G2 in my pocket to walk somewhere, within 2 seconds the music app is turned off.
Seriously?
Google, did you never consider the reality that I might want to move around without holding the phone?
This is simply another coding error.
If I purchase something with a function, I don't want to carry it.. I want to use it hands free.
It's 100% Google because this is entirely repeatable.. just cover the light sensor and the app turns off nearly instantly.
